I switched to Apple products because of Logos Bible

Weird. I was just thinking of this today. Back in the day when my wife got an iPod Touch, I loved seeing the Logos app on it. As a long time Logos user, I thought of how awesome it would be to have access to my books on such a device. I also bought an iPod. The rest, as they say... is history.

Having lost access to my Logos app the best couple of days (due to Apple download challenges), I am reminded how much I appreciate it.

So, thank you Faithlife for your investment in this app!

[I should mention that I'm not simply a 'fanboy' as I am comfortable and content in both environments.]

I have a personal thing against Apple. Perhaps its genetic, or perhaps a sort of Lamarkian evolution (the further I stretch into Apple, the more deformed I get--pity the children), or perhaps its the power of tradition handed father to son over generations.  I just don't like Apple. They are good, I know it.  It's not that.  It's just a sort of internal thing.  Is counseling available for that?

Nevertheless, I use Apple products and have to agree that I love Logos on my iPhone and iPad and use it a LOT.  Thanks, Logos.  Good job!

I had to laugh when I read that because it reminds me of my feeling about anything Microsoft - even though I love using Office to write my sermons. Perhaps if both of us go into counseling we can get a discount?  [:P]

Apple and all the big companies are guilty of inhumane business practices. Apple has claimed to have tried to correct factory conditions although the may be being said for PR sake, also what is a fact is people working on the Apple production lines are paid a significant amount more than those working in the other parts of the factories (plants building Apple stuff also produce most of the electronics we have). These factories are horrible. With conditions that we would never want to work in with underaged employees as well. The fault is not 100% with Apple Sony or any other company. But within the Chinese government that will put up with the deplorable conditions. Apple and others may be willful blind.. they have their inspectors that check the books and interview random employees but the books are falsified and the workers are instructed to lie and give the answers that comply with Apples set policies. The monsters are really us, we claim we want a just and fair working conditions for where are products are made, yet we generally vote with our wallets for the cheapest product with the quality we want. Apple is not cheap, but one reason why Apple shifts get tens of thousands of applicants for every opening is because they do pay the workers more.  I am not 100% sure if there is such a thing as an ethically manufactured electronics. There seem to be just different levels of badness beneath our fingers and against our ears. This is something that troubles me greatly but I do not know the solution, as I pointed at above many companies have demanded better treatment but in the end often times nothing changes accept on paper. I can tell myself at least the workers building my iPhone / macbook are payed more than other workers but i still know it is not good wage or a factory that has good conditions. Perhaps the Ludites had the right idea..... but while i may regret biting the apple, i feel blessed by God's grace and the ability to study God's Word with software like Logos.

I imagine it's just a sliding scale regardless of where the computer comes from. Even if you make the computer yourself, the parts have to come from somewhere and were put together under certain conditions.

Regardless, it's good to keep hammering the subject. Apple becomes a lightning rod for this because they are a large target. But if Apple--even if just to protect its reputation--improves conditions at a company like Foxconn, that affects the conditions under which Dell and other computers are made, too.
