NIV 1984 Anglicised "Version"

Ok, so what's the difference between this NIV 1984 $9.95 version of Logos and the one Zondervan doesn't want to sell anymore? It has as a sample Genesis 15, I opened my Zondervan NIV 1984 and it reads the same. I'm just wondering why all the hassle over not selling it before.
Blessings!

Its all about international rights (yawn - protecting their back yard) to sell the NIV Hodder and Staughton hold the UK rights to the NIV, Zondervan hold most of rest of world, and rarely do they allow each others products to be sold..

This is good news. [:)]
Does it imply that the resource will be updated to include speech visual filter? reverse interlinear? etc.
And what of anglicised 2011 NIV?

Concern for clear and natural English—that the New International Version should be idiomatic but not idiosyncratic, contemporary but not dated—motivated the translators and consultants. At the same time, they tried to reflect the differing styles of the biblical writers. In view of the international use of English, the translators sought to avoid obvious Americanisms on the one hand and obvious Anglicisms on the other. A British edition reflects the comparatively few differences of significant idiom and of spelling.
The Holy Bible: New International Version—Anglicised. 1984 (electronic edition.). London: Hodder & Stoughton.
So we get words like armour and colour spelt correctly, otherwise it is the same Bible. Main use that I make of the copy in Logos is generating word searches.

It's extremely unlikely that the 1984 Anglicised NIV will be updated with reverse interlinear info etc. It doesn't have any of the underlying tagging to make this possible, and I can't imagine there's much incentive for Logos to add it.
The difference is mostly spelling, but also some Americanisms have been removed. So, for example, Mark 2:23 reads
One Sabbath Jesus was going through the cornfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some ears of corn.
Instead of
One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.

Does anyone else think it's strange that you need an American version and an Anglicised version of the New International Version?

This is very interesting!
I already have this?
The Anglicised NIV 2011 most be coming soon...
Strange the British publishers are happy to sell 1984 but Zondervan are not.

I would encourage you to get it while you can!
Because once the Anglicised NIV 2011 appears the Anglicised 1984 may be withdrawn from sale.

Maybe Zondervan is not allowed to sell the 1984 but as there is no 2011 Anglicized Staughton is allowed to - until the 2011 is Anglicized and the door closes?

The Anglicised 2011 is here and it is the only edition that HODDER now publish!
That is why it is so strange.
Get 1984 while you can...

Does anyone know if there's an Anglicised NIV yet that includes reverse interlinear (to allow sympathetic highlighting)?
I just bought the Anglicised 1984, and this doesn't work. The Logos website doesn't make this particularly clear pre-purchase.
Customer Services say I have the NIV interlinear files, and they would work with the US 2011version. But they aren't sure if they can sell me this as I live in the UK...

Hi Rupert
I see no restriction of the US NIV
I have it and I am in the UK
Have you tried purchasing it, here is link below.
https://www.logos.com/product/8787/new-international-version
It is unfortunate that the Anglicised NIV does not have interlinear.

Know this is a bit of an old thread but there are Anglicized editions of both the ESV and NRSV..... Although I think the NIV is the only one FL has.

I don't think you should expect a RI to be made available for the Anglicised NIV. It was never done for the 1984 version, and I think Bob has stated somewhere else that the focus is on getting Reverse Interlinears sorted out for Bibles in other languages rather than increasing the number of English ones.

If you've got a base package, you are likely to have the US NIV 2011 already, wherever you live. I'm in the UK, and have always had the American NIV as part of my package.

Thanks all,
NIV doesn't come with the reformed base package sadly.
Customer Service were unsure they could sell me the US version, but it works via the website. Presumably they can refund the Anglicised version.
Just means I have to put up with something called a "rooster" crowing every Easter! A decade since I qualified as a veterinarian, and that's an animal I still don't recognise...

When I purchased Libronix back in 2001, when I was living in the UK, the NIV did not unlock, despite being part of the package. I had to purchase the Anglicised version separately from Wesley Owen...
When I added the SESB a few years later, the NIV unlocked without issues.

The Anglicized NIV (1984 or 2011) does not. The US NIV2011 comes in Standard Bronze, Bilingual Bronze, and Biblical Languages.

Indeed, you are right. Was it removed from L5 packages and put back in with L6? Or is my memory playing tricks as my birthday approaches. [:D]

Sorry to resurrect an old post but I was thinking about this the other day and found this site
https://www.slowley.com/nivuk/
It lists all of the changes but I think it might be for the 2011
