Re: Ownership -vs- Access Clarification (A win-win for all)

Thank you for your interest to my proposals. I don’t know if you are affiliated with Faith Life Corporation and in position to bring about changes or just users seeking clarification of my proposals.
Regardless, I put forth two suggestions to get full access and usage of the Logos Digital Bible Software into the hands of many more people sooner, rather than later. At the same time, show business consideration toward Faith Life Corporation to pay its employees, researchers, and maintain future development. Let me make it clear, that I am not an executive, an investor, or an employee of Faith Life Corporation.
What I have proposed is different from what currently exist. There are two things:
1. I suggested renting access. Making monthly payment to use Logos Digital Bible Software. The monthly fee will give the individual full and complete access to the “Collector’s Edition.” The agreement must be for a year. If the user pays the rental fee (determined by Faith Life) in advance for a year, he or she will be given a 10% discount of the based rental fee. At the end of the year, the user will not be the owner of any books. Rent to use only! The rental agreement (one (1) or more years can be renewed). At the end of the rental agreement, in this plan, the user WILL NOT OWN anything! Full access and usage with no ownership of anything.
In sum, this plan:
a) Gives the user full and immediate access to all levels and books.
b) The user must sign a contractual agreement to rent for a year.
c) A 10% discount off agreement if paid in advance for a year.
d) User will NOT OWN ANY BOOKS at the end of the year or agreement.
2. The second suggestion is to give total and full access to the “Collector's Edition Level” on a rent to own basis. How it works? The user signs a contractual agreement to buy the top-level package. At the signing he or she will be given full access of usage to the Logos Bible Software. The user will pay a monthly fee or rent until the contractual agreement is paid in full. After the fulfillment of paying for the “Collector's Edition Level”, the user will own it. FAILURE TO PAY the monthly (fee/rent) or complete the contractual agreement the user WILL OWN NOTHING and will lose what books he or she owned before the agreement.
In sum, this plan:
a) Commits (contractually) the user to purchase the top level (Collector's Edition Level) presently existing.
b) The user gets FULL and IMMEDIATE access to the top level Bible software upon the signing of the contractual agreement to purchase the present top level (Collector’s Edition).
c) After signing of contractual agreement for purchase (taking over a year’s time to complete), if the user chooses to complete the purchase/agreement within a year, he or she will be given a 15% discount, if paid in full.
d) Full and complete ownership of the Collector's Edition Level when paid up by monthly rent or accelerated according to the contractual agreement.
e) It can and should be passed on to the user’s beneficiary without fee or penalty.
3. The two plans are for serious users.
IMHO, this is a win-win for Faith Life and its two and a half (2.5) million plus users. The more this software is used the greater the exposure for Faith Life and its product. It’s better to get a little from a lot (people), than to get a lot from a little (people group). Politicians understand and utilize this concept. I don’t know how much of Logos users owned the Collector Edition, but with this plan, I believe many more will come on board. I pray action will be taken very soon, by permitting full usage of all levels by renting or rent-to-own, to ensure that the Logos Bible Software becomes more accessible and affordable for everyone.
In addition, Faith Life Corporation can and will continue to make money from the boot camps, shortcuts, easy to understand mining of information, and new books. With full access to all levels, the addition would be more reasonable to secure. I don’t have the last word on getting this software out to the multitude, but this is an additional way. The users get full and immediate access to the top Bible software. At the same time, Faith Life gets commitment, profits, greater exposure, continuous growth and development.
When the executives of Faith Life and the legal department fine-tune the points of the proposals, they will speak as David did to an additional thousands, if not millions, of new users “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good” (Ps. 34:8 NKJV).
“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.” ― C. JoyBell C.

Sounds like the payment plans that Faithlife already offers

If what you say is so, where? Based on your knowledge, does one get immediate and full access to everything? This is what I proposed. I am not trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm just trying to get this product into more hands sooner, rather than later. Affordability and full access are the keys to my proposals. If this currently exist, do tell. C T

Are you familiar with the payment plans?

Just to expand on this a bit further.
You seem to be asking for two different models:
- One which is a pure rental agreement
- One which is a rent-to-own model
Faithlife offer two things which are similar to what you are suggesting:
- Logos Cloud - https://logoscloud.com/ which offers a range of products "to rent". Note these are not the same contents as you would find in the base packages
- Rental plans - referenced above
These are the things - available today - which seem closest to what you are suggesting so I recommend ensuring that you understand what they provide.

No-one who has replied, to date, in this post or the one you created earlier is part of Faithlife Corp - just users trying to help clarify what you are asking and ensure you understand what is available.
(And, in future, please keep similar conversations to a single thread. It is much easier to track and engage with)

Graham,
Thanks for the information.
You're correct about what I am asking, the two different models:
- One which is a pure rental agreement.
- One which is a rent-to-own model.
Yes, I am aware of the "similar" and "the things - available today - which seem closest" to what I've proposed.
I am also, aware that you or anyone that has responded to my post are not part of Faithlife Corp. It would be nice to hear from them on what I am proposing.
With this understanding, what do you think about the proposal? In your purest of opinion, what would the minimal amount be to rent the Collector's Level per month? You may want to re-read my most recent post, "Re: Ownership -vs- Access Clarification (A win-win for all) again. Lastly, what's the proability Faithlife will adopting my proposal?
I do want to thank you for your willingness to help with information by sharing "what is available" and seeking clarification of my requests. You're most kind.
In moving forward, I would put forth greater efforts to keep my thoughts on this subject in "a single thread." I apologize for any confusion.

Someone from Faithlife may see this thread and respond to it - but as Logos Cloud has recently launched I would be surprised if any new models were introduced in the short term.
Charles McNeil said:In your purest of opinion, what would the minimal amount be to rent the Collector's Level per month?
If I look at Collector's (when not signed in so not taking account of any of my prior purchase) I am offered it for $455/month for a 24-month period. This is for the "rent-to-own" model. So that seems to be the price for which it is being offered.
Charles McNeil said:Lastly, what's the proability Faithlife will adopting my proposal?
Personally I think with the two options outlined above they are covering most of the bases and don't see what you are suggesting is "different enough" for them to need to introduce it. But only they would be able to comment definitively.

A little hint: When posts get too long, I don't read them.

You have a point. Make an exception, read it and understand what I am saying. I hope to do better the next time. Its an art yet to be mastered. What a dilemma? One can say a little and not be understood or say a lot in details and not be read. I am thankful God hears us when we're long or short. I guess it comes down to the urgency and the sincerity of the petitioner and the will of the receiver. It would be interesting to see how you would say what I am determined to say, with the necessary details for understanding. Mission Possible?

I don't think it's an issue of length, as much as it is a WOT (Wall of Text). No paragraph breaks. It is incredibly difficult to read in that format.

Charles,
I agree with Thomas. Break it up into logical sections.

Thanks for the tips. To be honest, I typed my thoughts out orderly in Word and pasted it into the text box. I, too, was disappointed with the layout, but didn't know how to correct it. Chalk it up under lack of skills and not efforts. I really do want you to read what was written and geet your feed back. Hey, when one knows better, one does better.
Thanks Again!

Hey, you never know. Faithlife is a business. Nothing is in cement. Changes are made all the time. I think when the marketing department do the numbers, consider the demand, their customers base, loyalty, potential new users, and profit margins; Logos will come out of the clouds, into the laps of the people. I am not asking them to give anything away or the store.Car dealers have developed a plan for recent graduates to buy a new car with limited credit, income (not to mention credit card companies), and with little collateral. I am confidence that FaithLife Executives can walk and chew gum at the same time. They can make their product more accessible and available to the masses of religious users, researchers and still make a profit in the process.Companies know how to promote one offer and have another market-tested one waiting in the wings. Look at Logos home page. The offers and things they advertise and promote: MEd Courses (fast becoming they new "bread and butter"), book/data sets, etc.Besides, sales and marketing are like surfing. It takes knowledge, skills, and discernment in knowing which and when to ride the waves. Oh, when one does, s/he is far ahead of where she started. This is hope for Faith Life Corporation. What I am asking for can and should be done:1. Rent-to-own (leads to ownership)2. Rent (usage)Both suggestions should be given immediate and full access to the Collection Edition upon the signing of a legal-binding contractual agreement. If they can't do it, I would like to know just the same. The question is, do they have the will? They can do it for a short period of time or make it as an option to to what exist today, regardless. Hey, I asked. "We have not because we ask not." Until next time, I'll wait, in faith, for Faith Life Corporation to "comment definitively."0

Graham,

Super.Tramp,
You said, "Ain't gonna happen the way you want."
What are the basis of your conclusions?
- Do you speak from personal experiences or as an insider?
- There is no demands for what I've suggested?
- Do you view this with a "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" mentality?
- There's no will on the part of FLC to do such?
- FLC is satisfied with its market share and pace of distribution?
- Do I hear you to say, in your statement, that contractual agreements are too messy, difficult and costly to enforce?
- FLC doesn't share my viision of immediate and full access by contractual agreement?
- Or, it "ain't gonna happen", because I asked or want it?
until next time, I trust that someone from FLC read this post.
