Duplicated "hits" using Syntax Search?

Hi,

When I use the syntax search using Andersen-Forbes Old Testament, I get back duplicated hits when searching for a Lexeme. For example:

Gen 1:1-3, 1 hit

Gen 1, 1 hit

Both are the same. Is there a reason why this is happening? the video I am following to learn the syntax search feature does not have this issue. I am duplicating it exactly. Thanks!

It's a feature as it shows results in all the clauses and sub-clauses relevant to your query i.e a result is repeated for every element (clause, etc) of which it is a part.

Is there a way I can avoid the duplication? For example, if I want a quick count on how many times God gives a command and don't want to scroll through all the results, as an example?

At best the repetition can only be minimised. Try to avoid "Matching skips levels". Unfortunately, most queries are at the Clause level and will use "Matching skips levels" for convenience, and also to ensure all relevant results are captured.

If your query is simple then a query at Terminal Node or Word level will eliminate repetition. Phrase level will mimimise it, but there are phrases within phrases!
