Why does THIS happen?

So I had a plane flight today, and I decided to use the time to watch Logo Mobile Education videos I had bought and Verbum360. I downloaded the videos prior to the flight. But I get on the flight, and find none of them are watchable!  I confirmed this once I was off the plane, I put the iPad into Airplane Mode and no videos were watchable. Why in the world does this happen? This is a crime Super Angry

That's frustrating. I'm not sure why you were not able to watch these off-line. Perhaps airplane mode affects it in some way. Just to clarify, did you download it as illustrated below?

Did you download the videos to your iPad through the Logos/Verbum mobile app?  Videos are not automatically downloaded to mobile devices if they are downloaded to Desktop. Just one Mobile Ed course can contain 10 GB of video data.

Bruce, I just downloaded specific media resources to play them - and they absolutely are downloaded to the local device, as you can see from this picture - clicking on the blue 'i' gives the option to Remove, and note they show up from "Local:" designation. I just clicked on each resource, got the matrix view of all the various screen starts for each lesson, at home here it says "This feature requires an Internet connection", on the plane it just blinked and returned me to the page with all the screen shots. The same thing happens if I Just explicitly turn off WiFi and Cellular Data.

    Have you guys tried this?

Is there an answer from Faithlife on this? It seems like a pretty major issue on mobile to me...

To download the videos for Mobile Ed resources, please tap on the "i" icon to view the Book Info panel for one of the Mobile Ed resources that you've downloaded, and then tap on Media Downloads.  Does it say any items are available while offline?

Media downloads are separate from resource downloads because of size and bandwidth issues.

So that is the issue, thanks - but I have to say this is totally confusing. I bring up in my library, for example something like "NT252 Parables of Jesus (Videos).". I tap the 'i', and get the Book Info pane. I tap on "Download". It says "Downloading", then "Installing", then "Remove". Would I not assume it has now downloaded the resource? Apparently I thought I had downloaded everything but I have not downloading anything because it takes two different download actions? (Note the "Videos" resource is separate from the NT252 text resource).

I might suggest this needs to be made much clearer, and/or let "downloading the videos" mean downloading the videos. I have no idea what the download I did, accomplished?

Yes, it is a bit confusing - sorry about that.

Video-only resources were not part of the original Mobile Ed design but they were requested and so we added them.  The Media Downloads interface makes sense when invoked from "NT252 Parables of Jesus" but not when invoked from "NT252 Parables of Jesus (Videos)".

When you downloaded "NT252 Parables of Jesus (Videos)" the resource information was downloaded along with the thumbnail images that appear when you open that resource.

We're aware that it's not perfect but many customer devices would run out of space before completing the video downloads of even a single Mobile Ed course, so it didn't seem prudent to lead customers down that path.  I'll write up a case for improving the interface.
