TIP of the day: one common search error and its fix

1. You start with a search that works exactly as you want: {Speaker <Person Jesus>} {Addressee <Person Peter>}

2. ERROR: So you go in and replace Peter with John and get no results!

3. What went wrong? John is ambiguous - I could mean John the Baptist or John the apostle. If I remove the final brackets, the autocomplete menu will appear again and lead me to select the correct person. Then my search will run.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    2. ERROR: So you go in and replace Peter with John and get no results!

    The start of the problem is the <>  which leads to  <John>

    Starting with {Addressee <Person = Peter>}

    Change it by deleting from the end and inserting "John" ===>

    {Addressee <Person = John

    then select the appropriate "John" ===>

    {Addressee <Person = John (son of Zebedee)>

    and then ADD the closing curly bracket ==>

    {Addressee <Person = John (son of Zebedee)>}

    Thanks for this tip MJ and for your input Dave. I know that I have been guilty of not doing this correctly in the past but hopefully not in the future.

    Thanks for the info. I tried this and then realized I don't have a Logos Now subscription to try it out. The "Speaker" part works but not the "Addressee". In time . . .
