Notes Sync Maintenance

We are planning on performing maintenance on Notes sync this holiday weekend. We plan on starting the maintenance on Monday, September 7th at 2PM PDT, and we expect the service to be offline until Tuesday, September 8th at 8AM PDT.

You will still be able to create notes locally, however you will not be able to sync them up to our servers. There will be an exclamation point indicating that there is an issue with Sync, but that will be resolved once we have completed maintenance. Rest assured, all your data will be secure and preserved.

Everyone on the Documents Team appreciates your patience as we undergo this maintenance.

We started performing maintenance on Notes sync during the U.S. holiday Monday, September 7th. We started Monday, September 7th at 2 PM PDT, and we originally expected the service to be offline until Tuesday, September 8th at 8 AM PDT, however, the process is taking about twice as long as our preliminary tests indicated. We now believe it will complete in the wee hours of the morning (PDT) of Wednesday, September 9th. The process is going well, just more slowly than we expected.

I'm a developer, too, and things like this *always* go more slowly than planned. Production databases always have little gremlin communes not found in test databases.

Thanks. For me it's good to know there's no syncing and it's not unexpected. I now just know to only work on notes on a single machine.

Yes.

Check http://status.faithlife.com/ for the latest status (currently "Degraded performance", which can cause a sync error icon).

I just recreated my notes that I made Tuesday because they did not sync from my phone. Logos was syncing this pm, but the phone notes never showed up.Not a happy camper.

You may have recreated your notes prematurely, according to this http://status.faithlife.com/ , the service is back up and running but processing the heavy load of notes. Although it is back up and running, I think it will take some time to catch up.

EDIT: Just for future reference. I know that this is too late now.

Update - We've temporarily disabled Notes Sync again while make some changes to improve the performance of the new Notes database. Your notes will be stored locally and will sync to our servers when maintenance is complete. All other document types are still syncing normally.

Thanks, Rodrigo! Just after I posted my question they updated the status here: http://status.faithlife.com/. They've temp. disabled notes sync to make changes and improve performance. Other things should be working fine. I just need a little more of the fourth fruit of the Spirit. [;)] Bruce

Thanks so much for all your hard work on this. I love using Notes. For several weeks now my Notes created on my iPad do not always sync to my MacBook Pro. I was hoping that this Notes Sync Maintenance would resolve the issue, but my iPad Notes are still not syncing to my MacBook Pro. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure the appropriate note document is turned on within the resource. If that doesn't fix the problem, please create a new thread in the L6 forum. Clearly explain your issue. It might help to post screen shots from both devices.

My notes don't seem to be syncing between iPad and MacBook this morning. Been away all week, so don't know if this is new. Changes to reading plans, new notebooks etc made on one device don't show up on the other. Is this a known issue, or part of the maintainance? Thanks!

I'm noticing many (not all) of my notes have been duplicated. So a verse will have two notes identified but they are the same note. Is this related to the sync or is this something else? Never noticed this before.
