Installer privileges problem

On one of my computers I am using Logos on Windows XP SP3 with Logos 4.0a SP3. This morning it did a routine automatic update of resources. When Windows installer was running I got this error:

This is a computer at school where there are group policies that prevent certain things from being changes on the computers. I think it is trying to rewrite the shortcut on the desktop, which is harmless if it fails. Nevertheless, this kind of installer error is disconcerting and could be confusing to users. It would be better if it cannot write to the desktop to simply not update the desktop shortcut. I hope there are no other things that are not being properly updated.

I can confirm that I get the WIn 7 version of this warning everytime I update the main program file (most recently with 4.0aSR3). It appears to be a nuisance warning, since the program functions fine afterward.

I don't know. All I can say is Logos did its automatic update and Windows installer ran, then it gave this error. The account is a user level account and there are further restrictions on what a user can do due to the group policies for all computer at the school.

The program seems to run OK after I choose cancel to the error message. But it would be good if this error did not come up.

Did anybody get logs? Attach all that apply to the time of the event.
