Sometimes swipe, sometimes scroll
on my iPad, ios9, logos 6, sometimes to advance text I need to swipe right to left. Other times when I open the app, it smooth scrolls from bottom to top. How do I set it one way or the other and why does it change?

You set it by tapping on a resource then tapping the "View Settings" icon (Aa)
Then toggle the "Scrolling view" button. In scrolling view it scrolls from bottom to top, when not in scrolling view it goes left-right.

It's a per-app setting and it shouldn't change unless you manually do so. Can you provide any more context on when you see it changing?

More context:
When I opened the app yesterday for my daily bible reading, it scrolled. When I launched it this morning, it swiped. When I opened it to try your setting suggestions (thank you!), it scrolled. I have made NO changes to any settings as I didn't know how to.
