Regression bug: No progress ball on read aloud
I have checked a number of resources, including Greek ones, and there is no progress cursor/bouncing ball to show where the text is currently being read. I asked about this a day or two ago and someone says it doesn't do that, but if you search through the forums it absolutely DID do that, you can see evidence of it in the forums when it has broken before in the last few years.
I tested this on both Mac and Windows Verbum, 6.6 SR-1.

For clarification: the bouncing ball is ONLY for audiobook resources. Are you utilizing those, or the computer generated read aloud? Also, this feature can be turned off. Are you sure you didn't do so?

I just checked and I AM seeing the "word by word indicator," only it isn't word by word but skips every 3 or 4 words, and it is a simple grey dot, not the "flare."

I get the grey dot but it seems to track smoothly word by word (running on Windows 8.1)

Actually I just turned the "show word by word indicator" off then on, and the ray ball shows again. On the Mac it is jumpy - but Verbum is not really that zippy on the Mac anyway compared to Windows, so I guess that's just a by product of performance?

Faithlife? This happened again - black ball not working, "Show Word indicator" is on. Click it off, click it on, ball starts showing up.

So I want to be clear I understand this as I am using the read aloud more and more and love it.. But I thought you only get the red bouncing ball In just one of the resources. The ESV bible with the special narrator?
On everything else what I get is a a black circle (Or something like that) that highlights the first word in each new sentence and then disappears and that is all. Like a sentence by sentence indicator..
I am new to Logos so don't know how it all worked in the past.

The "word by word" feature is supposed to work in ANY resource with an accompanying audio book. Most users will only have a couple of these resources. The ESV and the LEB both have audio books associated with them.
The "read aloud" that most users have and use is a computer generated read aloud. This function occurs with the help of the "read aloud" feature of your operating system (mac or pc). There isn't a "word by word" feature for the OS computer generated "read aloud."

I saw the black ball bounce along word by word with two versions of NA28 once I toggled the setting off and on again. Before that it did not show. Same thing that happened to me the last time I used the feature, about 2 weeks ago I think.
