I'm having difficulties with cutting and pasting into WordPerfect from Logos 4.0a SR3. If you are able to determine and resolve the issue, that would be spectacular!
Welcome to the Logos forums...
Could you be a bit more specific (step by step) of what's not working for you?
Sure Bill, using Win7, I right click and select copy (or use Ctrl-C) and the selected text will paste in Notebook or Word, but not in WordPerfect. In Logos 3, the pasting function worked fine.
Thanks, Pete,
I checked the wiki for Word Perfect but didn't find anything. I have Vista & Word, so I can't duplicate your problem, but I know there are a number of posters who do & can--and who'll be able to help now that they know what the issue is.
I did speak with technical support about this issue and he was able to replicate the problem on my computer, so he is aware of it as well. I would love to know if there is a workaround (aside from double cut and paste every time).
I have no problem pasting into WordPerfect. I use 4.0 beta3, WordPerfect X3 and Vista. I can copy and paste both by using the right click menu, and by using the command line - Copy Bible verses to WordPerfect.
I use WP 14 (AKA X4), and also find some problems with pasting. What you'll have to do is "Paste Unformatted" or "Paste Unicode" (in th Edit>Paste Special dialog).
What I have done is create a keyboard shortcut for "Paste Unformatted" and mapped it to CTRL-ALT-V. You could also do this via a macro, or a button on the toolbar.
For copying Bible text the Copy Bible Verse module does work okay with CTRL-V, but I find it always changes the text to Times New Roman 10pt. I usually use 12pt and ChelthmITC BK BT Book. So I typically paste unformatted from the CBV too.
Let me clarify that. Copying and pasting into WordPerfect is a two step process - first Ctrl-C, then Ctrl-V. When you use the special window "Copy Bible verses", you can cut and paste to Word in one step (by clicking the "Copy and Paste" button), but when you select WordPerfect, the "Copy and Paste" button is greyed out, and only the "Copy" button remains.
I have the same experience Ken: the copy/paste option is always greyed out in the CBV dialog. And I can use CTRL-V with the CBV.
But I think Peltsenberg was asking about copying other material, for example from a commentary (select text>right click>"Selection">"Copy"). For that CTRL-V never works for me. I always have to paste as unformatted, or paste as unicode. Do you have a different experience here?
Yes Richard, and I appreciate your suggestion to map "Paste Unformatted" to Ctrl-Alt-V. While I still think this is an issue Logos needs to address, this is a more elegant workaround than what I was doing.
I do think that there could be an export 'filter' for WP (and other non-MS programs) that allowed copy/paste without formatting. Maybe a setting, in Tools>Program Settings, or else simply using the copy/paste protocols from the CBV would be enough.
Copy from L4 and "paste special" into WP X3 seems to be working here (Vista 64 bit).
This is me attempting to access that dusty old room in my head the door to which I have not even looked at in years. But I seem to remember that some programs did not paste well into WP and going into the prefs and ticking a box that says show hidden text often revealed it.
For all I know I'm talking about some other program, but I feel this was a WP issue. Give it a shot.
