I have been using the iPhone app ever since it first came out with little to no problem.  I updated the version today to 1.2.2 and now the app crashes on launch and closes every time.  Is anyone else having this issue.

OK, I think it crashed because I did not have any data service (cell or wifi) when I tried to launch.  I have service now and it launches and works fine. [:$]

I'm having this issue too, on my iTouch.

I'm using 1.2.2 on my 8G iTouch, with about 1G of free memory.

When I load the app, it closes itself after about 15 seconds. I can poke around inside the app, loading news, searching for a passage, looking at the About page for example, but then it still closes. If I just open the app and do nothing, it closes itself anyway in 15 seconds.

It does this when I have WiFi too, so it's connected to the network.

I've tried to look for crash details as suggested here, but there's no entries in that folder for Logos.

    Any ideas?

    I wondered about this too.

Does this mean that you can use the app only when you have internet access? It would be cool if there was an offline mode for those few occasions when you have no service. I though that was the point of being able to download books on to your phone.

    Cheers

Michael, there is offline reading for resources you download. Please see the tutorial here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/9162.aspx

Steven, did you sync the device with iTunes before looking for the crash log?

We do have some bug fixes in testing that address some crashes. Once I get the crash log I can confirm that this crash is one of them.

    Dave-

This has been consistent behavior for a good week or so, and I've synced many times, but there's no crash log referring to Logos. I ran the app today several times and then sync'd but there's no crash log dated today. The last one was on 1/8/2010 for a mobilemusic app..

Could there be something causing shutdown without a full-on crash?

Meanwhile, I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling did the trick. It seems to be working quite well now.

My iPod 64G is doing the same thing. I have a large logos library package and thought that it may be trying to load up too much at once.....? I guess I will try the uninstall - reinstall Steven suggested.

I just purchased an Ipod Touch and used it successfully for two days.  Then I started getting a problem with the app starting running for 15 seconds either on wifi or trying to use offline mode and it would exit. I removed it and reinstalled and it seems to be working fine again.  I didn't look for a crash log haven't figured that out yet but wanted to let you know I've experienced the same type of problems.

Dave, I've started using the offline feature and have just uninstalled and then reinstalled the Logos app.

I had been having the problem of being able to use it in my house (with Airport). At church, I get about 2 bars of cell strength, but the app crashes upon start up. No where else, just at church. [:'(]

Should this take care of it?

I will be getting another mobile device for running Logos 4. It will either be a MacBook Air or the iPad. (Leaning to the MacBook Air since I will be guaranteed proper usage at church if I synch my notes to it before going there. However, if my iPhone can now work there, then the iPad may be given more consideration.
