Word count in a Bible book

Is there any way to determine how many specific and words in general occur in a Bible book?
- How would you find out how many occurrences of the word 'love' occur in the Book of Ephesians?
- How would you find out how many times any word occurs in Ephesians or any other Bible book?
mm.

It sounds like the Concordance feature (part of Logos Now) is exactly what you're looking for. In case you're not on LNow, creating a WordList will help you a bit.

Do a Bible search for "love" constrained to Ephesians

As NB.Mick says, if you are a Logos Now subscriber the Concordance Tool helps here

You probably want to click "Bible Text" under "Field" in the left column so that you're not counting the words in pericope headings, translators' notes, etc.

Good point Bradley, thanks.

If you haven't got NOW, you can get same results from creating a word list

See https://www.logos.com/now for some context.
Basically it's an annual / monthly subscription which provides access to new features, datasets, tools, etc

Is it possible for any of this to be done in the mobile app? I can search but there's no word count and no concordance option that I can find

Hi Jack - and welcome to the forums
Sorry but this is not possible in the mobile app

Thanks Graham. I've started studying Greek with Dr Mounce's videos and am trying to choose a software that works best for me. It seems between this, accordance and possibly olive tree. Unfortunately I'm currently restrained to my tablet, so I have to go by app only. I love this app so far, it feels cleaner than accordance, and more powerful than olive tree, though I'm a bit confused as to why something so seemingly basic as a word count is not part of the app. It's not exactly a big concern as it has everything else and I could easily use one of my other apps for that purpose, but I'd rather use one app to do everything. Any idea if this will be added? If not the concordance at least a word and verse count on the search function?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

It’s a long-standing discussion as to how much / which of the features on the desktop app are made available on the mobile ones - with different people calling for different core functions. Faithlife do continue to add functionality to the mobile apps but it is not a stated goal for them to include all the features.

Faithlife don’t normally comment on new features before they become available and so I don’t know the answer to your question
Sorry I don’t have a better / more definitive answer for you

On the contrary, it was really helpful, thank you. It gives a bit more clarity as this is all new to me anyway. The best thing I can do ultimately is invest in a laptop to run the full desktop version. Until then I will have to rely on a couple of different apps (including logos - I'm very impressed) and a small hope that they may add that functionality in the future.
Thanks Graham.
