Please Help!

I have the Logos4Mac Alpha and ordered the tyndale commentaries and Grudem's Systematic Theology. The ST doesn't seem to be compatible with mac, and I don't know if the commentaries will be or not. That's a lot of cash flow down the drain unless I can get it to work. Anyone know what I should do? TIA

All our resources should be cross platform compatible. You should be able to use any resource on Windows or Mac. Currently, resources like Clause Visualizers and Timelines don't display on Mac, but I don't know of any reason that you wouldn't be able to use ST or the Tyndale Commentaries on Mac.

What problems are you encountering that you say that ST doesn't work?

Thanks Tom,

I insert the CD for the ST and nothing comes up. When I click it to open it a message says I don't have an application to run it. I am new to all this, so I am sure I am probably missing some simple step, so I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks again,

You might try entering "Update resources" in the Command bar. You'll have to type it in and select "Update resources" from the drop down list with the mouse. If that doesn't start downloading resources after a few minutes, try entering "Set automatically download updates to Yes". There's a bug in the current alpha that might not start downloading resources until you enter the second command. You should see the blue logos icon appear in the menu bar after a few minutes and the status when you click on it should say "Downloading (XX of YY)"

In order to get the Word Commentaries installed on my L4A I had to first install them in the 1.22 version of Libronix for Mac. Perhaps the Tyndale Commentaries are the same. . . .

The current state of old 3.0 resources which are not yet converted to the L4 format is confusing. It would be nice if Logos provided instructions on how to get 3.0 resources working in L4.

This should work as well. The Resource paths in 1.2.2 are automatically scanned by L4 so anything installed in the previous version should be imported into L4. On windows they have a "Scan" command that will allow you to point at a folder where other resources are located, but we haven't gotten it implemented on Mac yet.

I have been away from the actual CD-ROM of the Grudem ST all day, and haven't even received the commentaries in the mail yet, but somehow when I turned on my Logos and when I updated it I had all of the commentaries in my library. However, the ST was not there. I am thrilled about the surprise, but I am wondering how to get the ST as well.... Thanks,

Update:

I have tried entering update resources and set automatically download updates to yes, and I did have a small update, but the systematic theology is still not there. The CDROM is in my computer still , but I don't really no what is happening. Thanks for any more suggestions,

Currently, I don't have any other work good arounds. Once we get the *Scan" command implemented on Mac, it should be straightforward to do this kind of thing.
