Rino - with your 'assurance' - I switched to the beta and it is working. Having never done this, how do I know when the stable version is released so I can set it back to default? thanks -

How did you switch? If you manually downloaded the beta, do nothing. The next stable version AFTER this beta is released will automatically download. If you changed the channel you are on, you need to use set update channel to default.
More info can be found in the beta sticky thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/52967.aspx

It still singularly fails for me.
6.7 (presumably RC1, although not reporting that) and OS X 10.11.1

Did you enable Replace With Passage in the Services menu? It did not work for me until I did that.

I had to restart my MacBook after installing 6.7 RC 1 and then recheck the "Replace with Passage" service in System Preferences.

The new system service says (Logos) - this was smart as to make sure we were using the correct one.

In addition to restarting my mac, rechecking the service box for 'replace with passage', I found I had to go to the services dropdown menu and manually click on the service the first time in Word. After that it works. However, I have found that this happens periodically. so, if it doesn't work with your macro key setup, try it first with the manual select.

Hugh,
You are correct for Word! I use Pages for sermon and teaching prep. I could not get it to work via mouse or keystroke (I have alt/shift/7 as my hotkey).
The funny thing is the service IS getting the reference. It is just not auto pasting in Word. If you hit command/v your text will paste in. Also if you hit command/shift/v the reference will paste in matching the destination formatting. So for now until fixed it is an extra keystroke.
Let me know if it works for you like this. Rino

It would be great if you could make the service match the destination formatting. I think that is a big code fix
.... PLEASE.
The way that "Paste and Match Style" and other services that insert text and "match" the style is by providing plain text instead of formatted text. For our service, that would mean losing the ability to have superscript, subscript, bold, italic, etc. text.

Ah, thanks for the input Martin, I did not know that. When the paste comes into Pages it is still highlighted so I then hit my keystroke command for the default text. I did not know that would change the superscript, subscript, bold, italic, etc. text.
Thanks for the lesson. It would be cool if there was a service that at the least gave you that option

When the "Replace with Passage" service stopped working when Pages 5.0 came out, I developed a workaround to make it work. A side effect of the workaround is that it would paste and match style in Pages (losing all formatting as Martin said). I still use the workaround because of the paste and match style side effect.

Integ,
Boy for a year I have been looking for this. Could you coach me on this? The video posted doesn't seem to work with the new browser. I do not know how to connect outside of this forum. I am sure then you can do multiple services for different Bible versions?

The video is only a demonstration and not necessary for set-up.
The screen shots and the text should give you enough information to set-up. Note that, later in that thread, I changed the delays to .25.
Let me know what you are having trouble on in that thread, okay?

Rino - my text also is still 'selected' after the Replace.. command - but if I leave it selected and do the control-v 'insert copy' command, it is then formatted. Not much different than your solution (which I will try)...

I am on 10.11.1 and I still have that same difficulty

Hi Amber,
If you just recently upgraded to Logos 6.7, you'll have to go into your Mac's System Preferences | Keyboard | Shortcuts and recheck the Replace With Passage service. This is because they updated the Logos services in 6.7 and changed the names (they added "(Logos)" to them).
If this isn't your problem, may I suggest that you start a new thread and explain your problem in detail.

Martin,
You were last to chime in from Faithlife, so my question is to you. Is there any headway on this issue? I am not really interested in a workaround. The lack of a keyboard shootout is real time stealer when writing sermons, lessons, or even letters. Would really love to see this one knocked out. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you are having difficulties. It would appear that we resolved a majority of these issues back in 6.7, what version of Logos are you running? There is a possibility that the keyboard shortcut has been disabled on the Mac this is a system controlled setting, to resolve that go to System Preferences> Keyboard> Shortcuts tab> Services and ensure that Logos is enabled under the text and general sections.
