Faithlife TV on the New Apple TV (4th Generation)

Did you order the new Apple TV? If so, install the Faithlife TV app to start streaming Bible Screen, Faithlife Today, and Mobile Ed content! I’m loving Apple’s new interface, and thrilled to be watching Mobile Ed: OT201 Old Testament Genres from the couch after my kids have gone to bed.
To install and authorize Faithlife TV on the new Apple TV...
- Search for “Faithlife TV” in the App Store and select 'Get'
- Once installed, swipe down on the home screen to reveal 'Settings'
- From 'Settings' select 'Authorize'
- Using a computer or mobile device, visit http://faithlife.com/link and enter the Faithlife TV code
Would you like early access to 3rd party shows for free?
We’re busy acquiring 3rd party shows to expand the catalog and we’d love your feedback on the viewing experience and content. ‘Ask to join’ the Faithlife TV Beta group to get limited-time free access to 3rd party content. A limited number of people will be granted access to the group on a first-come/first-serve basis.

I'm glad to see another device added to this list. I hope Amazon Fire TV is coming soon.

This will tip me to update my old Apple TV to the new one! Great news!

You guys are awesome for doing this. Great way to use new technology. It would be really cool if you could have animated Bible reading on there, kind of like on Proclaim when it highlights a section of a passage at a time, but have the narrator, like the guy on ESV audio. I do my devotions each morning that way. I read along while he speaks. If it was tied to my reading plan I wouldn't even have to open my laptop. Ha!

Great suggestion, Mike! I recommend you ask to join the Faithlife TV Beta group for early access to some of the content we're producing in house. We'd love your feedback.

Is the Faithlife TV app available for iPad? And is it available worldwide?
I'm planning to buy the Apple TV, but the 3rd gen would be much cheaper.
Faithlife Connect + several Base Packages + Luther's Works, etc.
Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 260, Win 10 Pro, Intel Core i7-6500U, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 520.
iPhone 11.0 -

It isn't worth your money.
The new Apple TV has an app store, the 3rd gen does not.

For those with a 4th Gen Apple TV, is it worth upgrading from the 3rd Gen?

Is the App available in all App Stores or only US App store ? If this was accessible from Australian App store I might consider upgrading to 4th Gen Apple TV soon than later, if not then I have no real reason to upgrade any time soon.

I did, it's rudimentary but has great potential. For me, I have enjoyed watching my Logos Mobile Ed videos on it. The biggest problems so far:
1. The Faithlife Today streaming video either errors out or the video and audio are not sync'd. This does not happen with anything else (and I have a fast Internet).
2. If you stop watching a LME video, next time in it does not resume from the point you stopped like the desktop does, DVDs do, etc.
3. If you have a lot of LMEs, it can be hard to find what you are looking for, The titles are truncated so it's hard to see what each icon represents in a video they are all in a single horizontal scrolling line, so going back to one you are watching near the end is tedious; and there is no way to filter the list or other library management capabilities.
4. There is no syncing with desktop or mobile versions of any type.
Other than that's it's good, and IMHO it is useful today. Video quality is good, and there is tremendous potential to do more with it. I really like it.

Thanks to Don, we're aware of this issue, but don't have a solution, yet. Stay tuned.

We've got infrastructure in development to support "watch status".

So true. As the players improve, we'll add better support for searching and discovering content.

Expect to see more improvements here, too.

Faithlife TV is available at least in Scandinavian (North Europe) App Store. If you can find it from your iPad/iPhone App Store, it should be also in your Apple TV App Store.

Ok found it, thought this was something exclusive to Gen 4 Apple TV so did not think I'd find it on my iPhone...when I get some time I'll try streaming it on my Gen 3 Apple TV from my iPhone and see how that works...upgrading is a little more worthwhile now I no I can get the Faithlife TV but not quite ready to go there yet.

Thanks Jim,
I've just authorised my Apple TV and sent a request to join the beta group.
So now I have yet more to watch instead of normal mind-numbing TV from the main networks.
Thankyou.

Jim,
Much of the content will not play. Where is best to provide bug and issue reporting please?
Regards, Jim
