New $35 Kindle?

I fully realize that this cheaper Kindle is not the fastest tablet, nor will it be able to hold an entire library, but with about 8 gigs of memory, do you think this would be a cheap option to simply run the Logos App. with some of the most key resources in one's library downloaded on it for offline use or just a waste of $35?

Although I can't speak for this kindle, I have had 2 other kindle fires and the Logos app works on them.

Since it is a new one with reasonable features, my guess is that it would be that it would be able to quite easily.

Although, it only has 8 gig storage so it won't hold much.

    Bryan,

My kids had one of these a couple years ago. Not a perfect comparison, but theirs also had 8gb of memory. I tried downloading the app and test driving it. Seemed to work fairly well. So well that when I saw the $35 price this week, I bought me one. It will not get to me till The 15th but I'm going to check it out. I'll keep it mainly for logos. I thought the 35 was worth the risk of it. It being a great fit.

    Bryan,

Do you plan on using this Kindle for more than six months?

    Kevin,

I do plan on using it more than six months, but would expect that it would, like most technology, only be useful only for a couple years. Why do you ask? I was planning on only using it only for Logos, and thought that for $35 it was worth the gamble.

Well, I've often seen disappointment when low-end devices are purchased for Logos use because of speed issues and lack of memory.  It's not my job to recommend hardware but if you have a large library and intend on downloading books locally, etc. it might be frustrating for you.  Just my two cents.
