Layout Question

If I have say 3 Layout in Logos 6 Bible Study, Devotional, Sermon Prep. Why, when I do study in the Bible Study Layout and change the contents, is it not saved? If I open up the Devotional Layout then come back to the Bible Study Layout the Bible Study layout does not reflect the changes I made prior to switching to the Devotional Layout. Is there a setting in Logos that will save my Layout when I switch to another..... I know there is an option on the Layout tab to "update to current snapshot" but is there a way to set something to do that automatically? Thanks in advance for your help.

Ted, the program is operating as designed.

Look for the word Layouts in the UR corner of your layout. If you click on it not only can you open a saved layout, or create a new one, you can update the current layout. The control for that is on the right in the uppermost layout thumbnail. Click on Update active to update your currently open layout.

Should you forget to do this, Logos keeps thumbnails of the layouts you've recently opened and closed. You may find the last used version of your layout in that list. Click on it to open it.

On the Mac version Control-Option-Cmd-L will accomplish the same thing. I suppose there is a Windows equivalent for that key combination.

If I might jump in late, here's how I handle this, and it has worked very well for me for years. (Leigh mentioned it above, but I've added pictures.)

In your command box, type "update active layout" (A). In the dropdown, you should see the following. Under 'Layout', click and drag the words 'Update active layout' (B) to the shortcut bar.

When you drag it to the shortcut bar, release it and you'll now have a shortcut to click each time you wish to update. I renamed my shortcut "Upd act" to save space.
