Is there an easy way to search an author's works?

If I have several books in my library written by a specific author, it there a way to search all their books without creating a collection?

For example: I remember something by Mounce, yet I can't remember which resource.  Is it possible to search the resources which he authored (or coauthored) quickly?  Creating a collection that I'll probably only use for one search seems like a waste of time.

The work around I have thought of is to open up all his resources and search "all open resources."

    Hi Ronald,

Run a basic search and in the dropdown that defaults to all resources type author:mounce.

You should get an option to search those books as shown below.

    Hi Ronald,

Run a basic search and in the dropdown that defaults to all resources type author:mounce.

You should get an option to search those books as shown below.

In case it's not clear from the screenshot, you have to click on the part where it says "3 resources with author:mounce". I tend to forget this, and just press 'Enter', which chooses the top resource instead.

In the drop down box where you can choose a collection, you also have the ability to type in an ad hoc query.  Type something like author:Mounce and you will see, immediately below your typing, a group of search results like "x resources with author:Mounce" .  You can click on that group to search within that small collection.

The easiest way that I have found is with a basic search you can specify an author.

Simply type in the author and select the first entry (as in '13 resources with Mounce')

This narrows it down quickly but there will still be some errors ... such as 'William D.' or 'Robert H.' ... but it is quick enough to complete the job visually.

My library has 11 resources under author:Mounce but this method produces 13 resources. The difference I presume to be, for example, The Baker Encyclopaedia of the Bible where Robert H. Mounce, is a contributor. but not an author.

    without creating a collection

I find that some 'author based' collections are useful with the Citation tool.
