I received this advertised as pre-pub: Encyclopedia of Hebrew Language and Linguistics
https://www.logos.com/product/55687/encyclopedia-of-hebrew-language-and-linguistics
Anyone knows about this book? I tried to find reviews, but failed. I assume it is a good book but the price tag is a bit discouraging
I saw the price and was like WOW no way!
Looks very interesting. But at this price, I guess it is for the 1%
Wow, what an amazing resource...and for the price it should be.
Haven't seen it but I can believe it's worth the money. I'm tempted to take a trip to oxford so I can evaluate it...
I want to know what Logos users are rich enough to find this worth the money... and then ask if they want to gift me a copy [6]
Many of the articles have been posted online by the authors. see the list here. https://danielomcclellan.wordpress.com/2013/10/06/encyclopedia-of-hebrew-language-and-linguistics-articles-available-online/
Edit to make live link
Ah, it is a Brill title. That explains it.
You may also want to acquire its Greek counterpart. [:)]

Well, could it be?!
The hoped for has a March 2025 ship date!
And … with all that money I saved on the 2025 libraries (prohibited to unsubscribers), the Encylopedia will quietly encounter my cc with no complaint.
I admit my Logosian ways are not like others … I see Logos as an unbelievable window into the ancient unknown … guided by those folks at Faithlife (who only took 10 years or so, but that's ok).
Now for 'Family 35'!

Well dang, I wish it'd hang around another year. I'd love this after all my work in Semitics, but post-graduation, haven't found a job yet, and my wife's about to start her sabbatical year. Come on, post-docs! I see the Dictionary of NW Semitic Inscriptions is still languishing, though.

Yeah, that one's doomed. I thought sure this one was a goner … enough prepub'ers?!
But soon, now.
I made the pre-order. Maybe doomed myself?
Nah. But my scientific totally-unsupported observation has been that a prepub that's not pretty close to 75%+ early on, is doomed. Any amount of 'gathering' is offset by re-calculated inflation for production costs. It can never succeed. It's future is the casting eye of Molech (prepub manager looking to clean up the prepubs).
I think this is the very first time I have ever seen a Brill book included in a package, and at a (small) discount!!
It's like buy the Ency. of Ancient Greek at almost full price and get the Etymological Dictionary for free! :-)
While waiting for the Hebrew, I got out the Greek linguistic volume above. The article on koine was quite interesting. Macedonia and Alexander the Great.
I'm sure, with a free etymo volume, you'll vastly benefit from the linguistic volume!
