It looks like Logos 7 is around the corner and ready for the New Year. FL is giving last chance for Logos 6. What do you think?

Very doubtful. As long as I have been using Logos, new versions were released in November, so as to be available for the Christmas buying season.

Your screenshot say last chance for 15% off on Logos 6. The sale will end, not Logos 6.

I Hope that they will wait until we all have paid in full for the last base packages that we bought when they were released.

As long as I've been working in software development, delays in release dates have always been happening.

I've wondered in the past whether this is really a good idea. Few people get Logos as a Christmas gift. And the forums are full of people complaining they don't have any money at the moment!

I wouldn't be surprised if Logos 7 was brought forward, but I'd be surprised if it was very soon. Perhaps to the summer to fit Seminary semesters?

Based on the survey, and a conversation I had with a former employee - 7 IS coming, but it doesn't have much shape yet.
The survey seems to indicate they are deciding some of what its going to look like still...

Just a guess, but I'd say not before next fall.

I looked back and I posted a similar post on Logos 5, noting an announcement about the last sale on May 1, 2014. The release of Logos 6 was October 25, 2014, about 6 months.

On the other hand we are on release 6.7 with 6.8 in beta.  I seem to remember that releases were coming out every 6-8 weeks.  So there is just 2 more releases left till 7.0 unless you take the half-life approach; 6.9 then 6.95 then 6.97 and then 6.985, ... and realize that you never get to 7.0 anytime soon.

The different numbers in the software version are independent of one another. It will go 6.10, 6.11, 6.12, etc. You don't roll the first number up when the second hits 10. As an example, I am running Mac OS 10.11.2, and a few years ago, there was a Mac OS that went to 10.4.11 before the next major version came out.

FL already addressed this... I don't remember where. There is no reason why they can't have 6.10, 6.11, etc.

I can see how the wording "last chance" could imply that Logos 6 is coming to an end but I'm guess that the only thing that is coming to an end is the 15% off offer.

the last chance to save 15% simply means to me the sale is coming to a close, it doesn't rule out future sales.  Even if they intended this to be the last sale on Logos 6 I wouldn't take that as written in stone, that is the nature of retail. And the optimist would say the statement doesn't rule out future 20%off sales only 15%off sales [:P]

The graphic in the email I got is slightly different. It says "LAST CHANCE EVER TO..." (emphasis added). There's also a piece underneath about the 500 Book Mega Pack, 2015 Edition.

Personally, never mind Logos/Verbum 7; what I want are new base packages, especially Verbum ones.

As much as I like new software and computer things, I'm not sure I can afford Logos v7!

But if it's coming, I hope they keep the Logos4 API interface on the PC version. I'm still planing to write the add-on of all times ...😀

I'd rule out a 20% future discount, which would just be a 15% discount with a 5% discount on top.

But I'm an optimist and expect a 14% discount in the future.

I certainly hope not.  Recently bought the Fathers of the Church series, and could not afford an upgrade now.
