Hello

I think the answer is probably no but will Logos 6.x run well on Windows Surface 3?

NOT Surface Pro 3 (which is far more expensive and better I realize) - but Windows Surface 3????

Thanks.

I know someone who uses it n a Surface 3. It runs decently. There is some lag with certain tasks, but its still very usable.

Thanks. Let us hope someone who owns it will weigh in too.

  • I have the lower end Surface 3 with LTE and I'm planning to install Logos on it. I know the performance won't match that of my main laptop which is a Core i7 with 8 GB RAM, but it will be used primarily for reading and it should be able to handle that. I'll try to remember to post about how well it works after I've installed it.

  • Well, I tried it and determined that the Surface 3 is too slow to be useful for Logos. Everything works just fine and the Home page actually works at acceptable speed. But reading through scriptures has too many pauses and and is maddening. You scroll a page, wait a couple seconds and then you can scroll again. This is the biggest issue for me. Search isn't too bad at all especially considering how low powered the 2 GB RAM version of the S3 is. It's just the pauses in scrolling through resources that really drives me nuts and basically makes the whole experience useless to me. Note this is the 2GB RAM version. It may be better on the 4GB version.

FWIW, Laridian's Pocket Bible works perfectly on this device as does Oak Tree's Accordance. No scrolling problems at all. However I'd much rather use Logos as it's my main Bible software that I use on a core i7/8 GB RAM ultrabook (it flies on that machine) and core i5/16GB RAM Mac Mini (ditto on flying). Hopefully something will come out of the Universal app pre-pub and we'll get a useable version of Logos for devices like the Surface 3.
