I am looking at upgrading to either Standard Diamond or Reformed Diamond.  Both have products that are appealing.  The biggest advantage to the Standard package that I can see is that it has the journals.  How helpful have the journals been in your studies?  The value of books I do not have is Standard $11,668 and the Reformed is $13,742. What are your thoughts regarding these two base packages?

You don't say what you're upgrading from, which actually makes quite a difference. Because you only pay for what's new, some of what's best in these two packages might be things you already have.

You can read my verdict on all the Diamond packages here: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/117317.aspx. It focusses very much on those resources which are new at the Diamond level. If you're coming from Gold, for example, you should read the Platinum comparison too.

As for the journals in Standard Diamond. JBL and Themelios are certainly worth having, but you might already have the latter (it's in Gold). Biblical Archaeologist/Near Eastern Archaeology is also valuable if you're into archaeology.

Finally, people are often better off buying a few 'lower' base packages than one bigger package. Have you considered that possibility? It's hard to price up, but you can ask a sales person to do that for you.

Michael one other thing to think of is if you like the Journals. You could get the Masters Journal Bundle. I got back when they were on sale. It added almost 1,500 journals, I have a total of 1,808 Journals.

In addition to Mark's excellent advice, you should focus your decision on what's new to you in both products. There may be some overlap. Also, the products you are interested in might be available in a lower package, which gets very cheap in dynamic price (example: maybe you're upgrading from Standard Platinum to Standard Diamond. What interests you most about the resources you don't get with this upgrade may already be in Reformed Silver or Gold, which might be just a couple of dollars dynamic price. Or these resources might be in a bundle you can buy with additional discount when you have a base package in your cart.

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

Mostly it is the collected works and the theology products.  Here is a list of the things I would find valuable.

That's a very extensive (and fiscally significant) list. Other than the journals, what would be valuable to you in Standard Diamond? I imagine that there's some overlap and also possible some books that you would like that are not in Reformed Diamond.

I maxed out on Reformed awhile back. While the standard lineups are good, I quite frankly find that the Reformed, Lutheran and Baptist series seem to have more meaty things for people who are centered on studying the Word.

I tried to post a comparison from my excel file but the post was too wide and you couldn't see it properly so I deleted it.  I would suggest just looking at the Standard Diamond package.  There are some good products in it but with the exception of the journals I think the Reformed Diamond would give me a better deal.

Thanks Mark, I have Logos 5 Platinum and Logos 6 Chaplain.

In that case, I would personally think Reformed Diamond is a better bet than standard Diamond. Reformed is much more balanced at Diamond level, and a quite a few of the resources 'missing' from Reformed Diamond you'll already have anyway.

If you're buying two base packages at the same time, don't buy them online, but ask a sales rep to give you a custom price. There'll be overlap in resources, but the website can't work out what dynamic pricing would be in that scenario.

You may miss some of the journals if you buy Reformed Diamond, but if you don't have an unlimited budget, you'll be missing out on something, and as your screenshots suggest, I would think you'll be missing out more if you pass on Reformed Diamond than if you pass on Standard Diamond.

Thanks Mark, I do appreciate your help. I have been working with a Logos rep.  I will be adding a few items that are on sale to it. Mostly I needed to decide which base package to go with.
