LLR Sorting

i use the order that Logos places them in your catalog. For the most part Logos arranges series together.

If you are seeing the Bible Commentary pages (webpage which shows Bible Commentary as a heading in the top of the webpage of covers), then you selected in LLR to have your book covers displayed by Type. Bible Commentary is one of the types that Logos has assigned to our books in our Logos library. Generally Logos also places the order in canonical order within the series.

Since LLR is displaying the books by Type (the method that you selected). I have seen occasions where Logos has set the types of some books within a series with different types. For instance in the EBC (Expositor’s Bible Commentary) the first volume is set to type Monograph and the remaining 11 books are set to type Bible Commentary.

No is the short answer to your question.

For me to make another method of listing book covers in LLR there would be problems which would need to be overcome:

1. There would be many books in your library in which you only have 1 or 2 books for a series. This would complicate generating the webpages per each series.
    
2. Also there would be a large number of books which were not part of any series and those would have to be places on a separate webpage.
    
3. My library is less than 1000 books. So i would not be able to accurately check a new sorting method in LLR if i was to create this new sorting method.

i am guessing that you are running Logos/Verbum 6. Have you tried using the Library window in Logos/Verbum in the display mode Cover View to just show book covers? It does pretty much what you are trying to get LLR to do. They added the Cover View after i had built LLR. The Library window allows us to sort books in the Find box.

BTW: i built the book cover view to mimic what Mark Barnes (one of our MVPs) had provided in the forums. After some years Mark took down his site because of the large amount of space required on his server host. So i filled in the gap and added it to LLR which put the space required on to our hard-drives. Now Logos has provided a Cover View which resolves the problem (it is available to both Windows & Mac installs of Logos/Verbum). LLR only runs on Windows.

P.S. if i were to add another sort method to the Book-Cover view of LLR, i probably would consider one that uses MyTags (books that you have added your own tags). Although many people with large libraries haven't tagged many of their books due to the large number of books in their library.
