Installed just fine. Glad to see the version number didn't contain 666 [:)]
Prov. 15:23
Downloaded and installed perfectly (and quickly I might add). [:)]

Hmmmmmm, while I updated with no problem on my desktop, I can't update at all on the laptop. When typing "Update Now" in the command bar, it says "No updates available".

Thanks for all the hard work for us! It's looking better & better...
Flawless & quick download & install.
Any hints what the resource download afterwards was?
Thanks again!
Grace & Peace,
Bill

ME TOO - see my thread - YET mine did download. WHY?

QUOTE: Had not noticed this before. When I clicked on "Update Now" to
trigger Beta 4 dowload (as usual) the small blue logo almost
immediately appeared in lower right tray.
BUT the following message appeared on my Logos 4 screen "No Updates Available No Updates Were Found"
I do not remember the incorrect messge before.
ON the other hand, I am used to Bradley giving us a link that "usually" totally reloads the beta.exe
Is it that I have not had the software open before when downloading a beta update?
The download went fine and I got the expected "install now" button and THEN the (former) "re-configure" message appeared.

Thanks Bradley, the Home Page bug is definitely fixed, thank you [:)] to the entire development team. It does seem snappier in speed. I had a 34.4 MB download. Went smoothly on the install and was up and running quickly. I did have a crash - not a show stopper - when flipping between my 4 different layouts on the shortcut bar. L4 restarted just fine no hiccups.
I do have to ask why does the window resize when switching between layouts? it's not a show stopper, but certainly isn't as elegant as it could be. I know this was a topic of conversation when the original Beta was going on, but I would expect at somepoint not to have this occuring. Or am I missing something that L4 is required to behave in this manner?
Thanks again for the responsiveness.

I do have to ask why does the window resize when switching between layouts?
On this topic, I've had instances when I tried to switch layouts, and L4 did its resize / go black / resize again thing, but didn't finish its job. The L4 window ended up split between my two monitors (dual monitor setup), with the window's top bar (the one you drag to move the window around) with the window minimize/maximize/close buttons all invisible. I have custom chrome set to no, so the topmost visible elements were the half-height Home, Library, and Search buttons with the menu bar. I couldn't move the window; it's just stuck there. Closing L4 and restarting would display the window in the exact position.
It took another layout change to set it back to the normal position (maximized on one of the monitors). Not a huge problem, not sure if this was a beta-only issue, and doesn't always happen, but just thought I should report this to Logos staff.

Just restart the program, "no updates available" could mean it is already downloaded on your computer, when you restart L4, it will say a update is ready to install and ask if you want to install it.
Yes, it is running Beta 3 on the laptop (Beta 4 on the Desktop)

Michael,
I tried that but it still doesn't work.

We're aware of this window sizing problem with switching layouts (and the general slowness in doing so). Both problems are somewhat complicated to fix, and--while annoying--not critically impacting the functionality of the program, so we've put off resolving these issues to a future release.

I agree, this is not the most important functionality at the moment. so could we please move on to the essentials such as having a cup of coffee ready for me in the morning?[:)]
I just started with the Beta. At least, I think I did. How can I tell what version I'm running?

Bradley, you are correct in that it is not a show stopper. There are more urgent matters that need and should be addressed first. My only reason for the comment was to get confirmation - which you did - that it will be addressed down the road. That's good enough for me.
Thanks

I am currently running Logos 4.0a SR-3 (4.01.3.5180). If I type Update Now I get No Updates Available, I occasionally see a hard disk light flicker suggesting that something is happening. Can someone tell me what to look for to see if the update is actual;ly downloading? Also is there a setting required to allow Beta updates to flow into my environment? And one last thing - how big is the Beta 7 version?
Regards
Dave
David, you might want to start a new thread so more people see this question. I can tell you that if you want to download the new beta on top of your current instal just type "set download channel to beta" in your command line. This will take care of it for you. The file is about 37mb. Of course you might want to read the instructions at the top of the release notes before you do this. It hasnt given me any problems but it might.
