Resource hard drive space and location

Hi everyone,
I was trying to free up some space on my hard drive and found Logos4 resource storage both under Library and then under Application Support totalling around 36gig on my hard drive! When I called tech support they were not very helpful. The last time I saw a Logos4 folder taking so much space I deleted it only to find it was the folder where my downloaded resources were stored. Now there are 2 places! Does anyone know 1) Where does Logos6 store new resources (the path)? and 2) How to free up space (i.e. whether or not both locations are needed)? Their suggestion was not to delete anything but if I wanted to do a complete uninstall/reinstall that might relocate resources/space etc. Any suggestions? Thanks! And MERRY CHRISTMAS!

You should only have a folder under Application Support. Which folder has the most recent time stamps on it?
The folder in Application Support will have the name associated with it when you first started using the newer Logos Bible Software (I think). So Logos4 will be the name, even if you are using Logos 6 now (at least it is with me, and many others that I have seen).
If it were me, I would either:
1) If I had time and good internet speed, delete everything—absolutely everything--and start over. This is the easiest, but the longest way.
Or,
2) Copy what I think is the newest folder to a safe place (e.g., desktop), delete everything, reinstall, and use the instructions found on the wiki to install from the folder I copied to a safe spot. Once done, I would delete the folder I had copied to a safe spot.
Here's the instructions for doing this: https://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_Multiple_Macs
EDIT: these are nuclear options, so you might want to wait awhile and see what some others have to say. On the other hand, tomorrow is Christmas, so if you are spending the day with family it might be a great day to have your computer redownloading and indexing everything.

If you are on windows, a complete fresh install will make a "Logos" folder (I believe). On Mac, for technical reasons, even a fresh install will ALWAYS be in a "Logos4" folder.

I am on a Mac. It's not the label that bugs me but the multiple location of resources and/possible doubling of them taking up space

Is it safe to assume that any resources I've purchased in the past will automatically download if I do delete and do a complete fresh reinstall?

That shouldn't be the case. Can you give us both specific paths?

I think I figured it out...for some reason it was saving my resources in two locations. So I dumped all of the Library>Logos4 resources into the one under Application Support. I am just waiting for it to index before I delete my garbage bin and free up 17 gig. I'll keep you posted.
PS I had a challenging time trying to find where the new resource location was
*UPDATE: Well, I deleted my bin and now I'll just see if Logos detects resources purchased that need to be added to my library but from all appearances it looks like I freed up 17 gig.
Thank you everyone for responding to my cry for help! Best community!

I think I'm seeing something similar. I just found out the hard way my system drive is nearly full.
I have Logos 6 installed on an application partition (D:) where it sits with my Data folder holding roughly 24GB of stuff.
But over on my system partition where Windows 7 is installed (C:) I found under my User/AppData/Local/Logos that there is a Data file in there that has roughly 18GB of resources.
Is it safe to blow up the resources underneath the User directory? It's seriously eating up that partition and I've got to find a way to safely move/delete it.
Thanks,
Matthew

So what I did Matthew was I kept the application support library folder and opened up a secondary window. I think dragged and dropped all resources from the "library" folder into the applications support location - pressed skip on all the replace/repeats etc. Once everything was added, I deleted the older Library folder and opened up Logos to have it reconfigure my library accordingly. So far everything is there and working perfectly and I freed up all that extra space
Hope that helps!

There is a possibility that you might have two Logos installations but only if you have two Windows Users on your computer.
If you are the only User, right click the Logos icon on your desktop and choose Properties to show where Logos is installed. If it is on the
drive it would be OK to remove the Data folder from C: drive (Logos still uses the User/AppData/Local/Logos folder on C: drive, but it should only contain the \Install folder).
