Logos 6 will NOT update resources on laptop machine.
Howdy-
My HP laptop PC (almost five years old now) will NOT update any Logos 6 resources even when I attempt to force an update via the "Update Resources" command. The last time it appeared to be successful was August 29th, 2015. It may be something simple as a firewall setting or maybe something not-so-simple as a corrupt DLL replacement or a registry hack needed (not likely but I can do so if required). My desktop PC updates without issue. Both machines are running Win 7.
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you very much in advance. I suppose as a last resort I could just take my laptop to Logos headquarters since I live in Lynden, about 15 miles away...

Hmmm... it is showing 6.5 SR-1 whereas my desktop is running 6.8 SR-1... interesting.

That is probably very relevant as some resources will only run in later releases of software.
I recommend upgrading it - "update now" should do it, if not links are available at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/120944.aspx

Ah-ha, so "Update Now" is a separate and distinct command... I'll give it a whirl, thank you!

Well, I tried "Update Now" several times but to no avail. It will say "Checking for updates... for about two seconds, then the message disappears with no further action. Even tried using a wired connexion but no-go. Puzzling.

It would be helpful to post logs from a session where you run "update now" (or "update resources") to see why the program isn't finding any updates.

Something must be seriously broken- I downloaded the LogosSetup.exe file and it appeared to install the .NET 4.6 (?) update correctly, yet when I restarted Logos I still have version 6.5.0.0044. It just will not update. Strange indeed.

Your download window (in Program Settings) is set from midnight to 4am, so downloads will only occur between those hours. Change it to midnight-midnight to allow downloads immediately.

I set it for 0000-2400 and it took right off and updated. I guess I just assumed that forcing a manual update would have overrode any other settings since it says "Automatic Updates" in the Settings menu.

That was a limitation in 6.5 that was fixed in Logos 6.6. Unfortunately, you were still running Logos 6.5 so the bug was preventing you from getting the update.
Now that you have Logos 6.8, you should be able to reset your automatic download window to midnight-4am, but have downloads start at any time if you explicitly enter the command "update now".
