No Chronological Bibles?
Just curious about why Logos or Vyrso doesn't carry any of the many chronological bibles available. I understand they may technically not be needed since we can create verse lists, but that's not always desirable. Sometimes I just want to open up a chronological Bible and start reading without the fanfare of creating lists, workspaces, etc. to achieve what I want. As it is, I will now purchase one on Kindle, but it feels really weird not to have the option in Logos at all.
Thoughts on this gaping hole in our library? Are the publishers preventing their publication?

Printed chronological bibles have parallel passages placed close together.
Personal book option is creating a chronological Bible Harmony => https://wiki.logos.com/Lectionary_and_Harmony_Support
Thread in Files forum => Chronological Bible, one year reading plan has two personal book chronological Bible Harmony documents, which allows version of Bible to be chosen.

I think you intended to answer the other thread where the question was asked about parallel/chronological? [:D]

Thanks Jan, I actually do have this book and will read it at some point, but can't now as I'm working on a writing a series very similar to this, and don't want to be influenced in any way. So it's not quite what I want. I want one of the more mainstream translations. I have a couple laying around the house somewhere, but the print is too small, so I'd rather read electronically.

Here is a chronological bible I found on the internet that I made into a personal book.

Cynthia,
I have a number of Chronological Bibles, but my favourite is 'The Reese Chronological Bible'. However, it is not available in Logos.
There is one resource from Logos that I think might be interesting to you. I understand that it is not exactly what you are looking for as you will have to click on the links to read the Bible chronologically, but there is the added benefit of the topical information the author provides. I have it in my Logos library and it is Footsteps Through the Bible: A 52-Week Chronological Reading Plan and Study Reference.
I just use the Logos highlighting feature to cover off what I have already read, so I don't need to create a reading plan or anything of the sorts.
It is really a pretty good resource and relatively inexpensive. I have included a sample from both the OT and NT.

Not a bad idea! I hadn't thought about creating a personal book.

I'm not shure what you are looking for? Do you want Parallel Passages like Harmony, or do you want a Bible you give you the Dates in Order the Book was made? Firs there are Plenty of Harmonys in Logos...
Second Point I just give you the hint that if you have a Bible what gives you the Dates of the Book it's just there Point of few. May be better you study this by yourself and have a Change to discover more than just one few. [;)]

Hmmm, interesting. I do have this book. I ignored it because I figured it wouldn't meet my needs, but I should at least check it out! [:)]

No, I don't care about the dates of the books. Just a bible that arranges the storyline somewhat in order. Actually I am studying a lot on my own, as I'm writing my own chronological, harmonized Bible. But right now, I just want to read a chronological Bible in a regular translation, just for my personal reading time, rather than studying, which is almost all I ever do lately. Lol.

Well I checked it out and it won't work. It looks like it only covers passages that have parallels, and it's not in chronological order. Not sure what the logic is, but the first harmony is the Passover. So I'll just read the Chronological NIV study Bible that I purchased on the Kindle. But I may refer to this harmony as I read.
it even has a Timeline ...it covers all Parallel Perikopen of the Old Testament I think

You did see the reference on page one to https://community.logos.com/forums/t/79994.aspx didn't you?

No! Not sure how I missed that. Off to check it out! Thanks. [:D]

I think you intended to answer the other thread where the question was asked about parallel/chronological?
The Personal Book documents in thread => Chronological Bible, one year reading plan are chronological without parallel side by side. Compiling as Bible Harmony allows Bible text to be chosen: e.g. 1984 NIV Anglicised and 2011 NIV

Well, after spending several hours figuring out the way I prefer to do this, I am using the Chronological plan Mark created in a layout linked to the Synopsis of the OT. I did it this way because I really wanted a plan that integrates the Chronicles into the appropriate places in Genesis. I found a chronological plan in the Wiki that does this, but I couldn't figure out how to get all those verses into the reading plan short of pasting them in one by one. With all that Logos can do, I'm surprised this feature is so difficult. All the more reason to sweet talk a publisher, any publisher, into allowing their full text chronological Bibles in Logos.
You can tell this is my first time trying to create a custom Logos reading plan! I'm exhausted and haven't even done any reading yet! [:P]

Ah ok, I followed Keep Smiling's directions before seeing this, which seems to be simpler as it eliminates creating a separate passage list. I see I would have pasted the verses in that Resource box at the bottom. Thanks! This is helpful for future reference.
1. Documents ==> New Reading Plan
2. Generate Reading plan
3. Paste wiki list here

I found an e-book NIV Chronological Study Bible still on sale for $4 out in the jungle. I got one the other day.

Be forewarned: there are typos in the Wiki Chronological Reading Plan Lists.
By typos I DO NOT mean that I disagree with the chronology. Rather, these are flat-out typos in the short names of some books and in the chapter/verse references. E.G. when reading in the Kings/Chronicles era, one is suddenly transported to an event clearly hundreds or more years away, sometimes bringing characters back from the dead, or causing their premature death.
I'm very sorry, but I seem to have lost any notes I had about these errors. Perhaps I could compare my corrected reading plan to the Wiki list if I still have it.

We may have purchased the same one, though I've decided not to use it but to stick with Logos.
