I see that the Continental Commentaries are on sale:

It seems I own a couple of the volumes because the Dynamic Sale Price is coming back: $268.73.
My question is, at that price, would this be a commentary set worth getting for academic/seminary level research?
I may try to see what volumes of it I already own and look over them as well for some good samples.
Thanks!
I value the series greatly... Revelation, Genesis, Psalms makes the series worth it too me for those volumes alone. I seem to remember Leviticus and one of the minor profits being very helpful to me as well. This series is greatly important in that it provides a point a view away from North American/Uk scholarship. Indeed as the title says it is Continental (as in Europe) giving us english speakers access to some of the best European scholars have to offer.

Sounds good. I'll look to see what volumes I have of it already for a sample, and I may jump at this sale. Looks like a good price for another scholarly commentary to add to my library. Thanks for the info!
Nathan, check out the price for Lutheran Gold before taking plunge. It includes the CC set and is almost half the price for me of the commentary set on its own!
Thanks for the info! I looked into it and Lutheran Gold is unfortunately close to $500 for me.
I heard more negative reviews so I didn't pull the trigger on this set, that for me it only costs $152 with a Lutheran Gold upgrade. Plus, the couple of volumes I own are just "ok" so I don't mind not having them.
