perpetual state of indexing

My computer appears to be in a perpetual state of indexing. It has been going on for weeks and slows down my computer.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

You will need to provide logs. See my signature line for instructions.William Emberley said:Can anyone help?

I am sorry but I do not follow. What is your "signature line"?
Thanks for the help.

The line that is the last line of his post ... prior to the forum software stuff -
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

The line right below this! Look for the PC Logs link.

I did not look at your logs, and perhaps it is only a mac problem, but if there is less than 11-12 GB of space on my hard drive it will not usually finish indexing.... do you have enough free space?

It looks like the indexer has gotten into a bad state that it can't automatically recover from.
I recommend entering the command "rebuild index" into the command box at the top of Logos 6, which will restart indexing from the beginning. (You will lose the ability to search your library while it runs, and it may take a few hours depending on the size of your library.)

Bradley,
That did the trick. My Logos rebuilt its index and the notification has vanished.
Thanks for the help.
