Bob Pritchett: Are You Still Alive?

Question for Bob Pritchett:
Are you still alive?
The reason I'm asking is this:
In Chapter 2 of Fire Someone Today, it says:
"At my company I insist on having a person, not a machine, answer the phone. No number of sales pitches for “automated call distribution” or appeals based on call volume can sway me from my position that great customer service means answering customer calls in person. If a computer answers your call to Logos Bible Software, you will know I’m dead."
Bob Pritchett, Fire Someone Today: And Other Surprising Tactics for Making Your Business a Success (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 2006).
When I called 800-210-6466, I heard an automated recording and was taken to some customer service prompts I needed to push (eventually I did get in touch with a live person)
So I'm just checking to ensure that Bob is still alive. :-)
(Note: This post is mostly for humor, although since Bob did mention it in his book about the importance of live people answering the phone, it may be something that Faithlife/Logos wants to adjust in the future to ensure others who read his book and call the above number realize that Bob is definitely alive and well).

Maybe it's easier to make some modifications to the book and roll an updated version out to all who own it [:#]

Bob doesn't seem to be on the forum so someone should call and ask![A]

Technically one now places a call to "FaithLife Company" so I guess there's no problem! 😜

We all wind up regretting ill-advised remarks.
In fact, I note that neither Pete Townshend nor Roger Daltry died before they got old.

I hope they don't die before I see them on May 25th in Los Angeles!

Yes, still alive.
You called directly into a queue; if you call our main number (displayed prominently at the top of Logos.com or on Contact Us) you'll reach a person. (I believe a person answers almost every number on https://www.logos.com/contact)
I don't even like the automated answering on the call queue, but we've found it works (and is sometimes preferred) when you're calling directly to a 'named function' and where the receptionist would just put you into that call queue anyway. And most of the time the call IS picked up by a person; it only auto-answers on behalf of the queue if everyone is on a line and no one is available in that department yet.
We still keep the main number, and the number you'd call if you went to our site / looked us up, staffed by a real live (and very nice!) person.
Thanks for checking in on my health! :-)

I was thinking that number basically takes one directly to the Customer Service queue. Anytime I've called and asked for Customer Service, the receptionist usually transfers me to similar prompts. The prompts "generally" work OK. A couple times my issue isn't exactly related, so I'll pick the closest one and go from there. It seems this number basically bypasses the receptionist and takes one directly into the Customer Service queue.
Good to know you're still alive and well, and that there is still a way to talk to a live person when calling into the main number. :-) It is a nice personal touch.

I am glad that Bob is alive and well, and still has a sense of humor. He seems to be one of the CEO's in the business world.
Methodists sing at every Annual Conference Wesley’s great hymn:
And are we yet alive,
And see each other's face?
Glory, and thanks to Jesus give
For his almighty grace!
