Problems installing Logos 6

Dear Sir / Madam,
Allow me to give an input out of experience.
In my experience, Logos 6 installation requires so much time and internet cost and requirements.
It ask for Microsoft.NET. Framework 4.6. This requirement is only known after Logos 5 is installed.
Then I found out that Framework 4.6 can only be installed when we have windows 7 service pack 1. So I ended up reinstalling windows 7 with service pack 1. And have to reinstall other softwares in my laptop.
Why do you have to require version 4.6? I thinks its only for windows 10 and for programs which require high tech graphic processing?
Then after Logos 5 installed & most of the resources downloaded (6000+ of 7000+ that I have), it upgraded to Logos 6, and then start downloading the resources all over again from 0!
This is really frustrating. Please be more user friendly. Logos should be helping user to study the bible, yet so much time taken for installing and finding out why it wont work.
Hopefully, this is overcome in the future.

Welcome to the forums. Did you see https://www.logos.com/system-requirements before you began the installation? If not, Logos needs to work on insuring that a user sees the requirements before starting the download. May I ask why you installed Logos 5 rather than 6 initially? There was a very major update of most resources just before the release of Logos 6 which I suspect may have caused the appearance of re-downloading most resources. But, yes, I agree that the initial install can be frustrating and it sounds as if you got the worst of it.

That's interesting - I haven't found that the case. I reinstalled Logos 6 just yesterday and it was very smooth

Why were you installing Logos 5? This has been unsupported for some time. But I agree I can't find anything easily on the Logos website speaking about required versions of the .NET framework

Windows 7 SP1 is the minimum supported version for Logos 6 as per https://www.logos.com/system-requirements

I don't know the technical reasons for requiring version 4.6 but Logos is a graphics intensive application

It would have only upgraded to Logos 6 if you acquired the Logos 6 engine in some way. How did you do that?
And, unless resources have been updated, downloading an updated engine wouldn't cause resources to be downloaded again
EDIT: MJ's post above reminded me of the big update to resources in the Logos 6 timeframe. Thanks MJ.

Please note that most of the people on these forums (such as me) are users of the software and not representatives of Faithlife (the company that provides the Logos software)
So we can't change how the software works but we can try and help people get it working well.
Faithlife people do comment - they can be identified by a green Faithlife symbol under their avatar
Hope this helps a little

Dear MJ Smithh,
Thank you for reply. It installed smoothly in other computer, when I installed it first time Logos 6 is released, so I didnt think I need to check the system requirement. I should also check the system first, somebody else install win 7 without the service pack in my laptop.
Why I started with Logos 5? Because Logos 6 wont installed, I thought I'd start with Logos 5.
Thanks again.
God bless you.

Dear Graham Criddle,
Thank you for answering.
I've send email to tech@logos, and they directed me to the forum. So I just copy paste my letter, not realizing that some of my words are not approriate for the forum. Sorry...
Thanks again.
God bless you.
Stephanus
