Reader's edition interlinear

I came across this feature and seems to be very useful: I can decrease the interlinear help as I progress

Currently for the Hebrew a limit setting of 5000 seems good for me, but I am not sure how the words are counted in that tool. Sometimes the English literal translation is shown for quite common words and sometimes glosses for words that I feel are not so common are hidden

The visibility of the interlinear data is controlled by the frequency of occurrence of the lemma in the resource. Some words (such as אָבִ֣ינוּ in your screenshot) are formed from multiple lemmas. In this case, the interlinear data for the word will be visible if any of the lemmas need to be visible.

If you want to see how this works, right click on the word, then select the lemma on the right and choose "search this resource" on the left. The lemma with the highest number of search results will control visibility, and the search result count will be directly compared against the count you specify in the Reader's Edition Interlinear settings. (The interlinear data will be visible if your settings are equal to or higher than the search result count.)

Thanks Andrew for the reply, but unfortunately I did not catch your logic, maybe it is reversed.

But I did some searches as you suggested. With the Greek is seems to work fine.

In Hebrew it looks like the letter-word "wav" in the beginning of the word hides the information. Maybe the functionality in Hebrew needs some more testing. Anyway, I like this feature

I cannot find this manual. I checked my library and did an Update Resources. I have Logos Now and am using the latest version 6.9 (Beta Channel for Mac).

This looks like a great feature, I've recently been looking at paper versions of a Readers Hebrew Bible because it wasn't available in Logos. This makes me consider Logos Now more seriously. Could someone tell me, can you use this feature in the Android app? And if so, do you need to be online to use it or can it be used offline as well?

That makes two of us (and probably a whole lot more)! This kind of functionality would be ideal for mobile use. Do we need to post a mobile suggestion for this or would this receive priority in the developments of the mobile apps anyway?

I think that most Greek Grammar textbooks try and get you down to 50 uses. Most Greek 3 semesters (at seminary) have you learn down to 20 uses (using Metzger's vocabulary aids). Those would be good starting points. If you used a specific grammar, you can always get the flashcard word lists from this faithlife group: https://faithlife.com/word-lists-for-flashcards/activity. You can use the word list as the means to hide the words you know.

I haven't seen this till now. I know it is outsourced to a third party which is why we are being charged for it, but really should be included in the cost of the subscription of Logos Now. Reluctant to purchase with no screen shots or samples provided. I have found MP training in the past to be very basic and not take you past point and click here, this sort of stuff that should be include in the Logos help file and not be something you have to pay to receive basic information about the software.

It is a typical MP manual with the addition of a bit of an introduction to each section. MP does what he does in documentation extremely well. I suspect that he will always have more screen shots than the document which Eli is doing a good job of honchoing the improving of. But neither is ever going to be a "how do I use Logos to achieve x" type of documentation in the broader sense.

Thanks MJ for the screen shot. Doesn't really look like something for me at that price point - equivalent to more than 2 months of Logos Now membership.

I learn more by using the software itself in combination with the posts on these forums. The Logos Pro team I should add is also doing some good work at introducing us to features of the software as a starting point that supplements the help files.

I've received the update Logos 6.9 SR-1 (6.9.0.0044) today, and as far as I can test it, it seems to work now, thanks a lot!
