For some reason, I no longer see this in my library. https://www.logos.com/product/7461/new-international-commentary-the-epistles-of-james-and-john
I have joined the group (late December or early January), and did once have the temporary license, but I see no sign of it now. Any ideas?
Today is February 1st. Maybe the "temporary" license was removed.
Mine has disappeared too. The temporary license is supposed to become permanent, as I recall...

My laptop has been offline today, so I still have the commentary, but I'm sure it will disappear when I sync it with Logos' servers.

It should turn into a permanent license, but it is no where to be found.
According to the faithlife group, it should turn in to a permanent license.
Well that stinks. Let's hope they fix this as I used to have it too
same here - disappeared
Same here. Hope it's fixed...
Yes, it has disappeared from my library also.
If we can get a Faithlife Employee to comment on this situation, and let us know what is happening, that will be good.
[:)]
Yes, it would be good, and I'm sure it will be fixed soon (comment or not). This post served 2 functions, 1st to see if this issue was isolated to just me (or a few), and 2nd to alert Faithlife of a possible issue (once it was determined that it is not isolated). [:D]
Mine's gone too.
I just received an email from Faithlife for this (priced at $0.00). That's strange.
Same here... I assume it is the FL method of turning the BOTM into a permeant licence.

I got my receipt too, just like they said it would happen (if you actually read the thread where the book was advertised;) they did say that's how it was going to happen).
DAL
I still haven't received it yet nor gotten an email
It just downloaded for me. My email had a $0.00 order notification.
Thank you, Faithlife!!!
Sorry about that, I'm working on getting the unlocks processed. They should be coming through right now, you'll get an order confirmation email once yours has been processed.
Thank you Dustin Masters.
Received the receipt in my email and the commentary has now down loaded into my LOGOS Bible Software.
Same here. Thank you logos. I look forward to February's offering

Thanks. I received mine.

Just wondering where everyone saw this offered as a free BOTM in January. I'm signed up for these emails, but I've gone through all my emails from Logos and never got anything on this book. [:^)]
By following the Faithlife Free Book group, you'll get a free book every month. We don't have a free book announced yet for this month, but when we do, we'll automatically grant you a free permanent unlock.

Thanks Dustin; I think mine is coming through right now. :-)
Mine came through too. Thank you!
Thanks Dustin.
Thanks Dustin
Thanks!
Thank You Dustin, Logos / FL, I really love all that Logos does for us. This is just one more reason to have Logos!
Same here.
Update: Just downloaded. No email, yet, but I'm sure it'll come. Many thanks, Faithlife!
I got the email yesterday but haven't got the download yet..
-Dan
Never got the download, but when I checked my library, it was there. E-mail arrived late yesterday evening.
Mine was there too... my bad i typed Letters instead of epistles so I couldn't locate it...
Now if we could just convince Faithlife to give us the proper cover... Apologies for my anal request...
I feel a bit churlish saying anything negative about a freebie, but that is a much more attractive cover.
I would agree but this is a relatively cost free thing (just the time to change it). If nothing ever happens I will be fine but I feel it is better for all involved, FL store for those who purchase, not just us who received it free. Like I said it is only my desire was improve things over all from an Aesthetic view point, but wholly unneeded.

I thought I read once on the forum that the book cover art is one of the more difficult things to change in a resource. It doesn't seem like it would be, but there was some technical explanation for the difficulty that I cannot recall.
Hey, I wasn't trying to criticize you at all. I totally agree with you. I just personally felt a bit of a twinge saying anything other than "thanks very much for the freebie."
If that is true I wouldn't expect it to ever be changed... but it is more odd to me if it is...
BTW EastTN I didn't think you were criticizing at all...
Seems easy enough to change cover designs when compiling a PB, so the difficulty might be in getting permissions from any copyright owners to use a given design. Certainly is a better cover design and would be consistent with the other older (1950s, 1960s) NICNT commentaries offered by Logos:

I would have thought the book cover art would come with the permissions to do the work from a company... unless this is a work out of copyright, and if that is the case would not the original cover art also be? Not saying it was easy to find the cover, I had to hunt to find it (it was also published in UK under title the New London Commentary on the New Testament.
My cover on the print version of 1 Corithians by Hughes has a cover similar to Dan's post, but has NICNT instead of NLCNT- other than that its the exact style.

I found this on the Wiki:
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to change a book’s cover image once it has been published. The cover image visible in the info pane is embedded in the files, and cannot be replaced without creating new resource files.

Thank you for sharing this... it asks us to keep reporting the wrong covers but doesn't tell us how exactly... So if they wish them reported perhaps eventually they may be fixed...
Very interesting... sounds like it likely started out under that name but had it's name changed outside of the UK to make it more palatable to a global market. Although does remind me a little of Bakers Understanding the Bible series... which was Hendrickesn's New International Biblical Commentary series which was revised and updated from Harper and Row's Good News Commentary series... or to a less extent Pillar Bible Commentaries which originally was brought together from 4 previously published commentaries they had released.
