By the time I got to day 16, I've come to see this as a marketing tool as much or maybe even more than as an educational tool. The barrage of pointers to resources that I may or may not own is distracting & off-putting. Day 16 ended up being a complete waste, as I don't have Logos Now, & the major thrust was for the Concordance Tool, available now only in Logos Now.

I wanted to learn to use the Logos. Not learn what additional resources or services would be helpful.

As always, YMMV (your mileage may vary).

    Bill

You have stated you complaint in a way that I agree with. However, there is another side - those who have Logos Now or Logos Cloud deserve to have Faithlife-produced education meet their needs as well. Perhaps something as simple as "those who do not have ... base level x, cross-grade, Now/Cloud ... may wish to skip ahead to ...." is the solution. I don't think the solution is targeting the training at the lowest common denominator.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    This would work for me.

Agreed, but as I prepare to start day 18, I had another thought: aren't those who subscribe to logos now / cloud (as a group) LESS likely to need the training that's in these videos?

Logos would have to answer this based on real data but I would expect Logos Cloud users to be slanted towards newbies and Logos Now to be slanted towards the more experienced.

As I've continued, I've grown more & more to appreciate the videos & now believe my comment (while possibly true for me for day 16) no longer characterizes the series. I've gotten more & more out of them, this last week or two. I'm so thankful to Faithlife for offering them, & thankful that I stuck with it despite my negative attitude in the beginning.

    Thanks, Faithlife!
