Devote Commentaries to a Book

Does anyone know how to make Logos automatically use only a few manually selected commentaries when specific books of the Bible are explored? I bought the ones I want, but they get lost in all the commentaries Logos automatically opens. I only want specific ones to open for specific book. Thanks.

Garrett, welcome to the forums.
Logos allows you to prioritize resources so they will come out at the top of the list of resources that opens with a Passage Guide, etc. Right now there isn't a way to exclude resources, but at least you can choose what comes up first.
You can find the instructions on how to do this here.
I hope this helps.

I don't fully follow your question. First, let's make sure to get your question to the right forum. Are you asking about the desktop app, or one of the mobile apps? A forum moderator can move this to the appropriate forum.
When you say that "Logos automatically opens," do you mean when you run a passage guide on a topic, or something else? Are you familiar with prioritization? Are you a Logos Now subscriber?

It occurs to me that you might also experiment with creating a collection that consists of only your select commentaries, then creating a custom passage guide in which you select that collection to be searched rather than all commentaries. This eliminates many commentaries from showing but doesn't exclude other commentaries in your collection from showing up if they cover a passage just like your favorite one in the group does.
If you name this custom guide "My Passage Guide" it will become you default Passage Guide.
If you use advanced prioritization plus a custom collection and the above you should see only the commentaries on the book you want. It's a bit of work, but should get you what you want.Pastor, North Park Baptist Church

Welcome!
You asked a good question - two MVPs posted while I was composing. You will find that advanced prioritization of a resource is often worth the effort.

Thank you Mark. That sounds just like what I need to do. Having a "collection" is perfect for my needs and easy to find. I've been using Logos for years now, but never taken classes or dove the depths of Logos's abilities. Looks like it is time to learn something. I'll try to follow your suggestions and will contact you if I run into any snags.

I think I got my answer below, but thank you alabama24.
For the record, I am using Mac desktop. (I loathe the mobile apps due to the limited screen area for content.)
Yes with passage guide, but also other options that auto open commentaries but not the ones I want.
I was not familiar with Prioritization, and was certainly not aware of Advanced Prioritization.
I don't know what Logos Now is, so I'm probably not a subscriber.Blessings.

Mark Smith, THANK YOU! I figured it all out, and oh my have I been missing out on what Logos can do. The Passage Guide is amazing! And now my even more amazing with the personalized guide using the newly setup collection. I've been looking for a way to cut down on all the chatter from a the thousands of resources when I don't want them. This is such a good solution. I am so glad I finally asked the forum for some help. Thanks again.

Glad it worked for you.
The forum is a great place to learn new things, even when you don't have a question. Hope you'll become a regular.

Agreed. The beauty of it is not just that kind people try to solve your problems but that that one reads answers to problems that one did not know that existed!!
