Full screen mode?

Hi there. Just wondering if it might be possible to introduce a full screen mode? Check out the kindle app for Android and see how the notification area and the system buttons down the bottom disappear.

This would be a much more immersive reading experience.

Thanks,

Lachie

    Hi Lachlan,

Welcome to the Logos forums.  Can you please share a screenshot comparing the Kindle app you've mentioned along with a screenshot of our app to help us see the difference?

    Kevin,

I'm so glad Lachlan brought this up.  I just submitted a suggestion to the UserVoice site requesting that users be allowed to hide the toolbar at the top of the screen.  As Lachlan suggested, this would create a distraction free reading view.  Olive Tree's Bible Study App provides a good example of one way to accomplish this.  Within their app, the toolbar is positioned at the top of the screen just like in Logos' app.  Tapping twice on any blank area of the screen or tapping once below the screen hides the toolbar.  Repeating that action causes the toolbar to reappear.

This would also solve a separate but related problem which I'm experiencing.  When the app was recently updated, the blue Logos icon was given a much brighter, bolder shade which is very distracting as I attempt to read text.  Not only is it distracting but due to an astigmatism I have (a common eye condition which probably many Logos users have), the new bright high contrast icon is causing me physical eye discomfort as I attempt to use the app.  I've submitted a UserVoice suggestion to please bring back the previous icon version with the more subtle blue shade but hiding the entire toolbar might be an even better solution.

    Thank you
