Crash when opening note file

log file attached
error "Logos Bible Software has stopped working". This occurs whenever I'm trying to open a note file. Tried multiple note files, multiple ways of getting to them, even opening layouts that have the notes file open. I can open many other resources, layouts, documents, and guides, but the instant I try a note file, it crashes.
Thanks for your help,
Brian

I took a quick look, but I am no expert.
Have you tried to access the note document via documents.logos.com? Did you create a particularly large note? Try to add anything to a note out of the ordinary?

It looks like I can view the main note file in documents.logos.com.
It failed with a super-small note file (as in about 100 characters of notes). I don't know how to scale the idea of a "big" note file, though it's never happened like this before.
I haven't added anything in at least a week. I only add text to these notes, so certainly nothing strange (definitely not in the last few months)

Try deleting it and manually recreating it from documents.logos.com.

Dave,
2 questions.
1) is there a wiki on how to do this?
2) is this something I'd have to try for each note file?

Let's make sure we are using the same terminology:
A note document contains notes, which may or may not be highlights.
The note document that you are having issues with... How many notes are in it? Is there a SINGLE note of 100 characters in the document, or a hundred notes with a single character, or an unspecified amount of notes with no more than 100 characters in each note?

I think Dave was thinking you would simply delete the note document via documents.logos.com... but at this point only do that if the note document would be simple to recreate.

Yes... are you having troubles with multiple note documents?

I would not recommend deleting documents; in the worst case, this could lead to permanent data loss.

This looks like an error in .NET; probably because the .NET Framework is damaged. Firstly, I note you're running an out-of-date version of Windows 10; please update to the latest build. If that doesn't fix it, try to reinstall/repair .NET 4.6.

Do you simply mean "If you delete the note document, you might lose the notes from the document"?I would not recommend deleting documents; in the worst case, this could lead to permanent data loss.

Yes, you could lose those notes.
Seems like an extreme first troubleshooting step to try. Let's try things that don't involve deleting your work first. [:)]

Fully agree.

Because it is a "a super-small note file (as in about 100 characters of notes)" that seemed safe enough to delete in the Logos app and may have revelealed the extent of the issue!

Sorry I've been out of the loop. If it makes a difference, I just crashed Logos by even trying to create a new note file (0 characters, 0 notes). That tells me the problem has to be outside the realm of a corrupted note.
I'll check for windows updates, then try the .NET fix, and let you know what it does.
Thanks!

So, checked for windows updates (said I was all up to date), restarted the laptop, and everything worked. Big notes, small notes, new notes.
Guess I should remember my rules from IT (step 1: reboot).
Hope I'm not jinxing it by saying this is working, but thanks for your help, everyone!
Blessings,
Brian
