Can personal books be downloaded to android without converting to something else? How?
Currently personal books are not supported in the mobile platform... If you have Accordance you can always put them into user books but their Android software is only just under development now. The feature may come to Logos mobile but it is only being talked about with many issues holding it back right now.

It does seem like a natural idea, doesn't it? If I understand Dan correctly, other software developers are or on the verge of doing it, so it doesn't seem that it is a technical improbability on the level of McCoy rebuilding Spock's brain.
I think Dan meant another software developer has only just started developing an Android app. However, I don't have any inside knowledge about that.

Spock's Brain is one of my favorite Star Trek episodes ever, however to my knowledge the Federation didn't have to worry about Copyright issues. The technical issues are obviously solvable, but if Kirk realized his Ensigns were illegally scanning/digitizing copyrighted data and then uploading it to the Enterprise computer for the purpose of digitally distributing it to their mobile devices, thus turning the Enterprise into their own personal SS Botany Bay (er, I meant Pirate Bay), he wouldn't just put them in the brig but might have to pay heavy fines to the owners of that data.It may seem like a natural idea, but there is no way for Faithlife to determine whether "Personal Books" are unique un-copyrighted works.
I understand that there will always be copyright issues but why is that issue so restrictive on your android and not on your laptop?
I would also like to see the ability to import pdfs into Logos itself but that would probably be an issue of royalties as well as technical.

In other words: "ain't ever gonna happen." Those who wait for it are like Pilot-Major Blackthorne repeatedly rebuilding his ship, while Lord Toranaga repeatedly burns it down.
Shaka, when the walls fell.
