Cannot get Logos 6 to run using my Galaxy Note 4 or iPad

I have Parallels install on my Desktop,  Galaxy Note 4 phone or my iPad. All other applications work fine,  including Wordsearch 10, Quickverse and Bible works 8. When I launch Logos  6 from my phone or iPad the Desktop shows a Neverending splash screen. The phone does the same whereas the iPad appears to do nothing.

I don't know about the iPad, but your Android phone can't run Logos6. It can run Bible, from the Android Play Store (just search for "Logos" or "Faithlife."

Not sure that's your problem, but wanted to make sure you were trying to run the right app for your device.

Hey Michael! Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]

As Rich suggested, L6 is a desktop app and runs only on Mac or Windows. It sounds like you are having issues with both and Android phone AND an iPad. Is that right? If so, it would be best for you to create two new threads: one in the iPad/iPhone forum and another in the Android one. In those forums you can find users and FL employees who deal directly with those apps. The only quick answer I can give you right now is to kill the app, restart the device, and see if that fixes things. If not, please do create those threads.

    Michael,

Are you talking about Parallels Access (I.e. remotely accessing your desktop from your tablet? If so, keep posting in this thread, but we're going to need more information about your desktop, including logs, and a description of what happens both on the tablet side AND on the desktop side.

    Rick, Alabama245 and Mark,

I have been using the Android and iPad versions all along. I recently installed the Desktop version of Parallels. It is supposed to allow me to access my Desktop from my iPad and Android phone from anywhere. Sounds like it is supposed to work similar to a Virtual Disk. I have also installed the appropriate versions of Parallels on my iPad and Android phone.

Parallels is set to automatically load when I load Windows (Windows 10). Once I launch Parallels on either my iPad or phone it locks my Desktop and prevents someone from using it at the time and then runs my selected application from my Desktop on my iPad or phone and even shows my Desktop on my iPad or phone.

Every application I try to run on my iPad and phone, including Office365 version 2016, Bibleworks 8, WORDsearch 10, Quickverse 10 etc., works perfectly.

I thought this was to allow me to run my desktop applications from anywhere and it seems to with the exception of Logos 6.

Do you see the app loading on your desktop when you start up parallels?

    Rick, Alabama24 and Mark,

I am now able to use Logos 6 on both my iPad and phone. Working great on both. Appears not Logos related per say.

I have a been using a two monitor system for about two years now with no problems. The main monitor I use everyday while the secondary monitor I use occasionally for another Bible program such as WORDsearch, Microsoft Word, Watch a Netflix movie while working and sometimes use it to open something in a floating screen in Logos and drag it to the second display. I even have a couple of Layouts in Logos set up to use both monitors on rare occasions.

I noticed that unplugging the second monitor and restarting Parallels on both my desktop and remote devices such as my iPad and phone allowed it to work. Word, etc. all worked but Logos until I restarted everything with just one monitor. I wasn't using a dual monitor layout at the time.

It looks like Logos was loading on Monitor 2, whilst you were viewing Monitor 1. I'm glad you got that worked out.

I've never used Parallels Access, but I use similar apps like TeamViewer. On TeamViewer there's a button you can tap which switches between the different monitors. I'd be surprised if Parallels Access doesn't have something similar.

Thanks Mark. That appears to be what was happening but I don't know why. On a normal day, I open all my applications open on display 1. I either manually drag an app to display 2, hit a hot switch to move it to display 2  if I want  to open say, Logos 6 and WORDsearch side-by-side or Logos and Word 2016, etc. If I open Logos 6 to a Layout customized for 2 Displays, it opens one display 1 and extends to display 2.

Besides the inability to select the display to use in Parallels on my iPad or phone, I was doing some work in Word on Display 1 of my desktop last night and made a couple of Sticky Notes Reminders and drug them to Display 2 and there appeared to be no problem until later when I decided to play around a little more with Parallels on my iPad. It displayed my normal Windows for my desktop (Display 1) but was overlaid with my Sticky Notes from Display 2 on the iPad.

Upon exiting Parallels on my iPad, I went back into my office later and my Sticky Notes from Display 2 were now on display 1, overlaying the Word document I was working on. Nothing showing on Display 2 except my extended background. Strange to say the least but at least I know its not Logos causing the problem
