Logos Price Matching

I love Logos. It's a fantastic resource that I absolutely LOVE having! The one aspect of Logos that I do not like is how expensive the books are. I feel that many Logos users would LOVE to be able to switch their Kindle books over to Logos, but that is not a feature from what I know. Kindle books seem to be a lot cheaper than logos book AND they seem to be running more sales than Logos on books that we all love.

Does Logos have a price match guarantee that allows for faithful Logos users to purchase books on Logos for the price that they are on amazon or other retailers? I feel like this would be an easy solution to a HUGE downside or using logos for your whole library!

Not to my knowledge. The price which Logos charges is based on their cost to produce the resource (royalties, costs of tagging, entering of foreign languages, linking, etc). The beauty of Logos resources is that much more is available through the additional work entailed in producing the resources. I rather expect to have to pay somewhat more for a Logos resource because of the value they have added to the resources. Added to this, my ability to have them available despite limited space and to have them easily transportable increases their value. When I left seminary to go to graduate school several thousand miles away I filled the entire front end of a U-Haul van to the ceiling with books I had accumulated. They simply take too much room.

The thing is you really can't compare Logos books to Kindle; even if not always perfectly, Faithlife adds a tremendous amount of value over a plain ebook that justifies, even requires, a higher price. (How much higher can of course be debated.)

To be blunt, Kindle books are awful. Just the other day I found a multivolume work available for 1/40th (not a typo) the price on Logos. Even though it's not something I really wanted, I couldn't pass it up for occasional reference use. And... It's pretty bad. No page numbers, not even a way to jump from one volume to the next. I'm keeping it because of the price, but were it something I wanted to use regularly, I'd consider picking it up on Logos even if only slightly discounted during a sale.

To put it differently, while I have occasionally been dissatisfied with a Logos book, I have never been satisfied with a biblical or theological book I've gotten in Kindle. The

MYSTICALLY WIRED in Olivetree will cost you $17.99 in Vyrso it will cost you $9.99... The same price as found on Amazon Kindle. As you can see FL is not always priced above others and can offer competitive pricing. I am not saying that I think FL never needs to reexamine their pricing but people often forget the good deals that can often been found in FL stores. And as Sean did we can purchase things elsewhere if we are willing to get a poorer quality product or go to other software to find similar quality with less integration than FL offers.

How do you place a value on having books that are all together in one place, where you can create searchable notes, books that are are linkable, can be highlighted, interconnected and so much more. Even the plainest Vyrso book has a lot of value added just by virtue of the fact it is accessible in the Logos engine. If I have another eBook not available from Faithlife that I really value, I convert it to to a Personal Book, even if the formatting is rough, just because of all that added value.

Sometimes books are too expensive, but if we just wait, then sometimes they become cheaper than elsewhere, like Don just mentioned. What goes around comes around.

I don't look for cheaper prices anymore because my Logos Library tagging. Sometimes a publisher has a sale you can get Faithlife to price match it.

Only Faithlife ebooks get price match (sometimes not all the time). Logos books are completely different from kindle books or other platforms.
