Resource Installer on Logos for Mac 1.2.2 doesn't recognise Logos 4 resources

I already had Libronix DLS 1.2.2 (203) installed on my iMac.

Now I've purchased a Logos 4 "Bible Study" package which I'veI installed in Apps, using my user name and the key that came with the 2 DVDs. Logos 4 doesn't seem to be working smoothly, but no matter it works after a fashion, and I guess lots more updates will get us there in the end....

What I need now is to get the installed resources from my Logos 4 "Bible Study" package over to Libronix DLS 1.2.2 (203) so I can use them properly in the old program.

However, Resource Installer in Libronix DLS 1.2.2 (203) doesn't recognize the resources I want to copy to my hard drive from the "Logos Bible Software 4" DVD -- the ones that are now installed in the Logos 4 set up by the way -- Resource Installer scans removable media, i.e the Logos DVD, but then no resources show up for installation. I've already synchronized licenses in 1.2.2 by the way.

Can anyone please help me get my Logos 4 "Bible Study" resources off the DVD or transferred across from wherever Logos 4 has them on my iMac, and on to Libronix 1.2.2 (203) please?

That's true, Joe. But then again, one of the reasons people buy Macs is because you generally don't have to wade through a lot of boring stuff for things to install and work as they should.

I've just discovered by email from one of your colleagues that i have to purchase this disk -- http://www.logos.com/products/details/5594 -- to get Logos 4 resources to work on Logos 1.2.2. In understand that I have to have this disk even thought I already have the latest Logos 1.2.2 already installed. This is what Don Everett says: "This is a new disc we released that provides the Logos 4 resources in Libronix format. If you have this disc, you can have Libronix open and use the Resource Installer to copy your resources."

So I've just ordered the disk on the purchase page on your website.

Ordering the disk just set me back US$ 33.95 including an extortionate US$ 29 for postage! I feel fleeced. Having to pay $5 for the disk is one thing, but then having to pay nearly 30 dollars for the only type of "postage" on offer is not good.

Well Joe, do you think that Libronix is offering your customers value when we:

-- buy the latest product, Logos 4 for Mac, which doesn't work very well at all despite the way it's presented on your website
-- discover that hundreds of dollars of new Logos 4 media they've purchased doesn't work in the previously installed version of Logos 1.2.2 for Mac
-- further discover that the only way to get Logos 1.2.2 for Mac to recognise Logos 4 media is to buy yet another disk
-- and on buying that disk get charged UD$29 postage for it!

This is not good, and there's no spin that can make it good.

I purchase goods from the USA all the time, via Amazon and others, and I am aware of the customary postage and packaging margins which merchants put on their products on top of normal postage costs. That's OK, but nearly 30 dollars to put a DVD in a little cardboard envelope and airmail it is not reasonable. Your purchasing site has no other options to "priority airmail". This is no way to treat customers abroad.

I have reluctantly paid $33.95 because I need my Logos 4 resources urgently. I have complained via Don Everett and I'll be interested to see how Libronix responds to what I see as a matter of marketing and sales ethics.

Joe doesn't work for Logos (and neither do I for that matter). He's just a user and beta tester who's willing to help.

Logos employees can be identified by the Logos logo under their picture.

Likewise not an employee, but did avoid ordering pair of DVD's by using high speed internet cable connection and new Windows XP virtual machine with Logos 3 - found autoupdate scripts on blog - then copied Windows Logos 3 resources => Logos for Mac 1.2.2 (while looking forward to Alpha improvements).

Also appreciate posts by many volunteers in Logos 4 Mac Forums, including some humorous ones by Joe [;)]

Did you miss the link on the Logos website plainly states that L4 Mac is in the Alpha stage of development? There is a link just below the video on the Watch Demo page. Tthere is another link at the top of the product comparison page just below the navigation tabs. If you have not seen it, it is here disclaimer

That is because L4 is more than a simple upgrade; it is a complete rewire of the entire application.

Actually, I feel that it was gracious of Logos to provide a path to backward compatibility.
