Together for the Gospel (T4G) 2016

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has attended this conference in the past. Logos has been a vendor every year I can remember but this is the first year I'll attend since I've been using the software.

Most of the vendors offer heavily discounted pricing for their products. My question is this: Does Logos normally have special conference pricing or sales for those who attend?

I have never been to T4G, but I have attended numerous other conferences where Logos was a vendor. My experience has been that the focus of the Logos representatives at these events is to enlist new customers and the special discounts are mainly for base packages if purchased at the conference. Even then, the discounts have tended to be the 10-15% off range, which appear from time to time anyway i.e. right now there is 10% off for anyone. Personally, the best deals I have gotten have been through sales and special events from Logos, not from purchasing at a conference. In fact, I have never purchases anything at a conference from Logos. Keep studying!

Thanks Greg, that's good to know. I don't have a base package yet as I'm currently subscribing to Logos Cloud to see how I like it. I'm hoping to have made my decision by the time the conference comes around. If they are running a really goo deal on base packages I may bite.

I became a Logos user in 2008 with Logos 3, so I am invested in the ownership model, although I do understand why Logos is moving toward subscription options. I do subscribe to LogosNow and find it worth the investment. In my opinion, the key issue is the ACTUAL RESOURCES that you will use. Yes, there is value in having a large library to access in the searches, but that is a secondary issue to the key resources that you use over and over again - likely original language tools, commentaries, Bible dictionaries/encyclopedias, systematic theologies, etc. If you are a pastor (or training to be a pastor) who will be preparing sermons and doing theological study for years to come, you will likely find that there are some important resources that you will want that are not included in any base package or in the Logos Cloud subscription. Here are some examples of resources that I am talking about....

Word Biblical Commentary

NICOT/NICNT

Baker New Testament Commentary

Tyndale Commentaries

ISBE

Grudem's Systematic

That's just a few but it's enough for you to see what I mean. You need to carefully examine what you actually get for the money whether it is LogosCloud or a base package and compare that to what you feel you need and will use in the future. Personally, I feel that the base packages are absolutely the best value at least through Standard Gold. Each level brings resources that the average evangelical pastor will use every week. Therefore, I advise pastors entering the Logos world to buy first up through Gold. Then after that supplement with individual resources that you will use - starting with some of those above.
