I met him many years ago - a very humble man. I really enjoy his books.
Hard be believe that he was 86. He continues to be very influential.
I also was taken by surprise at his age, not just his passing... He is with our Lord!
I used two of his quotes in my sermon on Sunday. He had a gift in communicating the need for spiritual growth, and will be missed by many.
