March 10th update screwed my iPad
I downloaded the new update today and it has made Logos on my iPad completely unusable now. When I sign in it does the library organization cycle, gets to 97% then hangs. When I quit the program to load it and see how much library I can actually use it hangs. I am very VERY frustrated as this is my sermon day -- a good portion of which has been wasted because of the new update. Has anyone else had these issues?
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Joe
I'm not seeing these issues.
Have you tried completely restarting your iPad?

Yes, I have several times. And I have reloaded Logos several times. Each time I sign in and it begins to load my library and each time it hangs on 97%. I am currently going to downgrade my iPad firmware to see if that makes a difference.0 -

What version of iOS are you running?

Joseph, your logs indicate you are running iOS 9.3 which is a beta version. We don't support beta versions of iOS: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/113000.aspx .

I am well aware of that. However, this has NOTHING to do with my firmware. I have just spent HOURS taking my iPad completely back to factory and reloading everything back on and guess what?! Spinning on 97% for a LONG LONG LONG time...in fact, its still at 97% so...now I am ecstatically happy that I wen through all of this only to find that...nope, the issue is NOT my firmware
I am very open to new ideas though because I NEED my iPad since I have now lost over 6 hours of work time on my sermon0 -

Is there a way for me to download an older version of Logos for iPad instead of the latest one...I really am getting desperate now for a working program.0 -
Hi Joseph,
I'm sorry to hear about this. There is a possibility that using our app on iOS 9.3 caused a data corruption issue but this seems unlikely. On the other hand this is the first report I've ever heard concerning the initial Library prep percentage animation not completing.
A few questions:
- Is this a jailbroken device?
- Do you remember the Document name for your sermon? If so, please check here to see if it has been synced to documents.logos.com.
- What is the model number of your iPad and what steps did you take to restore the data?0 -
Thanks for responding.
No, this ipad is not jail broken.
Thankfully my sermon itself was not using this but all of my highlighted research that I'm usin is now inaccessible.
I have done the following: stripped mymipad to factory new, reloaded 9.2, reloaded new logos (numerous times), each time it gets to 97% then after an hour plus it tells me that this resource cannot be added to your library, I click the ok and it will or move on. I quit the program and reload it and
My entire library will not list and is frozen.0 -
I've written up a case for our dev team. Can you please post/send screenshots of the "frozen at 97%", the "resource cannot be downloaded" dialog, and the Library as it is frozen?
Also, have you checked documents.logos.com to see if your highlights are listed?

Yes I can do that. Because it takes an hour to get there due to having to delete and reload I'll need to get that to you tomorrow hopefully in the am. Blessings.0 -

Joseph, please don't go through that again just yet as we might already have enough information to work with from your device logs. I will get back with you tomorrow (the 11th) on this thread.
Here's something you might try (if you are willing and if your iPad has enough space); please install the Verbum app and sign in normally, and then let us know if the same Library indexing problem occurs.
Again, sorry for this issue... we'll get to the bottom of it.0 -
After sleeping on this last night I awoke to a few thoughts:
1) I always have run beta on my iOS items and have never ever had any issues before with Logos.
2) When the new iOS program is loading my library it starts off very quickly then when it hits around 17% it begins to add at least one second to each percentage as it loads.
3) My iPhone now has issues accessing the commentary I was using saying that it cannot complete my request. Both my iPad and iPhone were "tuned in" to the same commentary and it is that commentary I believe is causing issues with my library loading - it is the Word Bible Commentary containing the second part of the book of Luke. Yes, my iPhone can no longer access that volume and therefore locks me out of the passage guide.
4) You might need to know that I am not a noob with iOS technology and while I may have missed something simple, I truly believe there is something amiss going on here because I have never experienced anything like this before.
Cheers, (I am loading verbum now and will let you know)

Hi Kevin,
So I loaded verbum as you recommended and it hung on 97% but eventually loaded. Then I deleted Logos, reloaded it and it loaded lickety-split. Very odd but I am grateful it is now loaded!

The update also stopped the app from working on my iPad. I tried restarting and reloading several times, and now the logos icon has completely disappeared! I hope this will convince Faithlife that it's not just a couple peoples iPads. There is a serious problem with this update they need to fix!

Welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]
Please create a new thread and explain your issue clearly, providing adequate details (including device & os).

I wonder what John's thumbs up is. Welcome, John.
I would note, I've had issues installing updates on other iOS apps this week. Indeed the icon problem too. And super-simple apps (eg metronomes, etc). I had to hard-reboot and download the apps from the store.

Hi John,
I understand your frustration. Would you mind trying the following to see if we can help them do some troubleshooting?
1) Install Verbum on your iPad, sign in and see if your library downloads then.
2) If it does, reinstall Logos on the iPad to see if the issue then clears.
Im not sure why, but that worked for me and I would be interested to know if the Logos program is the issue. It seems to me this release was to deal with some licensing issues. Ironically, for me, it created licensing issues.
Please try that and tell us if it worked.

Hi Kevin,
Sorry i missed this request -- my iPad model is MD786C/A. I wonder if the other gentleman having issues has the same one?
