Non Bible Text (under visual filters) does something weird

Hello

Has anyone else noticed that if you turn off non bible text (see below for example) you get giant chunks of white space left in your remaining Bible?

Isn't there some way to turn it off and have it eliminate the white space too? For some of you this is familiar but I am a little surprised by the odd functioning of these filters. Why doesn't Logos/Faithlife just call them "Cross references in or to other Gospels" instead?

Any kind, noble, or wise suggestions please (other than get more training Joshua)? Thanks.

If you read this far...I must say I am running into some "Are you kidding?" type functionality as I make more intensive use of Logos. Wonder why the developers are not going back to basics and updating these filters from the ground up to something useful and intuitive we can all understand even the Logos learner (beginner who should know more by now) like me types.

God help us all. Between classes I may have to take a Logos primer or watch some of those video trainings again....geepers!

Okay, I'll answer since no one else has ... although I was avoiding it due the attitude of your second post.

It appears that they are preserving offset position which is essential for searches to work properly, for notes to appear at the correct attachment points, for highlights to light the correct portion of the text ...

How hard can it be to remove it?

It's simple to remove it as long as you are willing to give up links with offsets, highlights, searches etc. It is not simple if you wish to retain functionality. It can, of course, be done if you are willing to take the performance hit. Sometimes things look simple on the surface but ...

all the useless things they dream up for the next version

Things like the Miracles interactive or the Speaking to God (Prayers) are meeting multiple user requests over the years as was the multi-view panel ... These have not been my top priorities but with a bit more functionality Concordancing would be.

Well said MJ. I will learn to live with it. I do not envy the difficult jobs these talented hardworking developers have either.

I am also just being honest about little value I get out most of the things they seem to be working on. Each time I read about what Logos Now is going to have next - I silently wish they would sit with someone in a Bible Study holding an Android or Windows Tablet (or an Ipad even) and see what we go through to get basic things done. Visual filter simplicity so you can ACTUALLY read The Bible doesn't seem like much to ask for but perhaps it is.

The problem is that if you took a sample of Logos users in a Bible Study you'd find an amazing variety of what people considered "basic things" - congregations vary widely in education, economic class, experience in Bible Study, basic patterns of Bible Study that are used in their denominations etc. etc. ... Despite years on the forums, there are still occasions when someone on the forums mentions a method, technique or assumption that seems totally new to me. Logos has to provide a product that provides a satisfactory experience to all of them and most likely a perfect experience to none.

I personally happen to use Bibles that give me no need to use any of the Bible filters for a satisfactory reading experiences ... and to illustrate the differences I hate red letter editions almost as much as George hates interlinears. I do have need for removing all but the text itself but primarily for sentence diagrams of exporting.

Line spacing for pericopes is being preserved, but it does not appear to affect highlighting/notes e.g. I selected text across verses with the filter on and the "missing" pericope text was included!? I wouldn't expect searches to be affected as word disposition is stored in your Index.
