Do I give up on Bible Reading Plan

So, I'm a little frustrated with the reduction in the functionality of by Bible Reading plan.  I use the 365 Day Connect the Testaments Plan, a pre-formatted plan from Logos.  In the early days, I would click on the first reading, say Genesis 1:1-26.  At the end of verse 26, there would be a hyperlink to the next reading, like maybe Ps 1.  At the end of the Psalm would be a hyperlink to the NT reading and then a link that said "Done".

Those links have disappeared!  This makes the convenience of a reading plan on my phone almost nil.  Now I have to navigate back out to the reading plan, click on the next set of verses to be read.  In addition, I have to manually tell the plan I finished that day's readings in the reading plan document.  That's another few clicks to make.

I deleted the plan and added it again, thinking this would shake the bug.  But still have the same results.  I'm not seeing anyone else complaining, so am I missing something?  Is there some setting I need to change?

Hi Robert - and sorry to hear you are having problems.

So, I'm a little frustrated with the reduction in the functionality of by Bible Reading plan

It's not an intentional reduction in functionality - the markers should still be there - so hopefully we can work out what is going on.

    Those links have disappeared!

I have seen reports about this on the Android platform on various occasions - but not recently.

    Please let us know:

    • Which app are you using (Bible!?)
    • Which version of the app
    • Which Android device
    • Which version of Android software

On iOS there is a "toggle" that controls whether the Reading Plan markers are displayed. I don't use Android anymore so can't verify that that exists on that platform - hopefully someone else will be able to

    Graham

Yeah, I should know better than to post without basic and vital info!!

    Bible: Version 5.1.4 (build 501040090)

    HTC One M8 (ATT)

    Andriod 5.0.2

    HTC Sense 6.0

I looked in vain for a setting that would change this, but couldn't find one.  Thanks for your help.

    Hi Robert;

I can confirm that the standard reading plans do have "end of reading" markers on Android, however, none of the daily calendar devotional do. I'm not sure if they ever did. What I do with the daily devotional, is to just read them, and when I approach a Scripture reference, I tap on it and it will bring up a box with the Scripture. When done, I just go to the home page and exit.

BTW: Once you read today's entry for the daily devotional, the blue dot next to the book cover will disappear.

    Erwin,

I can tell you that once upon a time the reading plan (named above) once had a link to the next set of verses to be read that day.  If I was supposed to read Gen 1:1-15, Ps 1 and Matthew 1:1-20, between Gen 1:15 and Gen 1:16 would be a hyperlink taking me to Ps 1.  At the end of Ps 1 there would be a link to Matt 1.  After v 20 there would be a link that said Finished.  None of those links appear anymore.  It was really convenient.  I miss it.

Has no one else seen this???

I have seen the behavior you describe on a PC but do not have an Android to test. I've read read of any change of this behavior.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
