Logos app on Ipad Pro - Däta Usage?

Hi,

I am considering getting an Ipad Pro 12.9" , and one of my main uses would be for the Logos app which I currently have on my iphone.

I am able to tether to my phone for a data connection for larger amounts of data, but was wondering if I should go for the cellular Ipad Pro to allow for greater ease ôf use with Bible study programs such as Logos.

The question is, to get full use of the mobile app, not downloading resources as I would do than over wi-fi, but for searches, word study etc how much data is the Logos app likely to use, to give me an idea of the smallest data plan I can get away with. The only other use of the cellular data is likely to be emails, and the Accordance app.

Also, could someone who has used Logos on the Ipad Pro tell me how well it works, particularly multitasking alongside OneNote for taking handwritten notes with the pencil.

I appreciate any advice.

Blessings

Duncan

    Hi Duncan,

You are asking a hard question to answer.  Here's why:

    - Data usage over Wi-Fi is usually free ... no issue there

    - Emails over cellular is generally very small ... talking about text emails here ... videos and photos sent via email are more

    - Can't comment on the other bible software ... check with them

Ignoring other uses, any idea what kind of data the Logos app alone is likely to use?

That rather depends on how much you jump around between different resources, and how many of those resources you will have downloaded previously on WiFi.

Just reading and running the odd Passage Guide or Bible Word Study will use relatively little. (I'm guessing, but I would think no more than 50-100kb per Guide). The real killer is streaming video, but if you stay away from that and make an effort to download frequently resources, you should be fine.

I checked my mobile data usage for Logos on my iPhone. I've used 1.7Gb, but I'm not sure what period that covers. I'm guessing that must be over three or four years, based on my mobile data usage total (the Logos element is only 2% of my entire mobile data usage for that period - it's less then half of my email usage, slightly less than Facebook, and only just more than "Time & Location"!).

Agree with Mark.  As long as you don't repeatedly download media resources, it's pretty peanutty on ios.

My Accordance is just the opposite ... I have 3+ gig; my biggest hog.

Keep in mind the cellular delivers gps if you also do mapping, etc. I got the cellular, with no cellular service.
