Is there a way to search for where Jesus is speaking as God?
I’m trying to find where He is God and where He is man.
Thanks.
I'm not sure that's even possible theologically, never mind in Logos.
Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
Here Jesus is speaking as God, because He can be anyplace where two or three are gathered in His name at the same time.
{Speaker <Person Jesus>} brings up a list of where Jesus speaks, but I was wondering if there was a way to narrow it down to where Jesus speaks as God. Perhaps not.
Thanks anyway.
Identifying Jesus as the speaker would be rather straight-forward. However, identifying the content of that speech theologically would require highly subjective interpretation. What one person would see as Jesus speaking as God, others would have a different take. Personally, I would rather do my own research rather than trust someone else whose theological system is unknown to me.
Couple "narrow" search ideas: recommend comparing results with {Speaker <Person Jesus>} since results are incomplete plus may include false positive(s):
<Person God> WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>}
{Speaker <Person Jesus>} WITHIN {Section <PreachingTheme = God: Presence>}
Caveat: search <Person God> WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>} did not find Matthew 18:20; both searches lack many beatitudes in Matthew 5.
Expanded "narrow" search ideas that needs more comparison with {Speaker <Person Jesus>} results (completeness ? false positive ?)
(<Person God> OR <Sense = kingdom of God>) WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>}
{Speaker <Person Jesus>} WITHIN ({Section <PreachingTheme = God: Father>} OR {Section <PreachingTheme = God: Presence>} OR {Section <PreachingTheme = Kingdom of God>})
Observation: {Speaker <Person Jesus>} does not find God speaking in the Old Testament.

To the best of my knowledge this would not be possible. And by the main stream of Christian theology, this would be a (Heretical) Nestorian reading of scripture. To avoid drifting more off topic, do a Logos search on "Nestorius OR Nestorianism" in your library.
After all, did Jesus die as just a man?
