Search "Reading Status" in Library

I know that there are ways to search for specific columns in your library (and thus to filter collections by these) using the parameters in the Wiki, but I have not seen nor been able to figure out the attribute by which to search for "Reading Status" in my library. To clarify, I mean the circle with the visual representation of how much I've read. (e.g., "You've read 19% of this resource.")

I would imagine that a search field exists for this, because if I click on the column header "Reading Status", it groups them according to "Reading", "Finished", and "Unread." I searched the wiki for the attribute name, but could find nothing on it. Perhaps it does not exist?

I'd like to create a Collection using those parameters, to help keep track of what I'd like to read and what I have read already, but I don't know the syntax of the search to move forward with this idea. Can anyone help me?

I believe that you can sort on the field and select the groups and save as a collection. It is not dynamic. You'll have to keep it up manually.

Ah, so at this point, there is no Library Filter Field for reading status. I was really hoping for something dynamic.

I've tried a dozen variations (mystatus, status, readstatus, readingstatus, etc.), but none work. Perhaps a FL employee can verify that such a field does not exist, lest I continue to stab at the dark in vain.

Perhaps, but the purpose of the forums is for users to help users. You may check Library Filter Fields in Help to confirm the field does not exist as a filterable item.

Hi Bobby, I don't know of a way to use reading status as a collection rule either. I wonder, however, if your goal is to keep track of what you have read or are reading, why sorting the library according to reading status does not do the trick for you. When you sort it and get finished, reading, or unread, you can look under each category what titles it contains. Is that not sufficient to keep track of what one has read?

Or a common solution is to tag books as read, unread, and to be read.

If you want the short version, use {ReadingStatus x} where x can be New, Unread, Reading, or Finished. So my Collection rule for reading for 2025 is:

MyTag:2025-reading AND MyTag:#ReadLater -{ReadingStatus Finished}
